Mark 4:39
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, « Quiet ! Be still !  » Then the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

MEDITATION:
Entered afraid when the storm threatened their ship in the middle of the sea, the disciples had to wake Jesus who was sleeping.
Jesus was with them in the same boat.
We can imagine if Jesus was not in the boat with them, what was going to happen to them.
Of course, they would perish.
It is the same for our lives:
We go across the storms of life that we are afraid of.
If we do not have with us Jesus so that he could tell them to be silent, they carry us.
Fortunately, among those who have accepted him as their King and their saviour, he is always there during the storms of life, to say things like: « Silence, shut up ! » (v. 39.)
When the storms of life threaten us, let us turn first to Jesus, and let him fill us with the peace that comes from being with him.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, reminds us of resorting to your son when the storms of life threaten us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Marc 4:39
Jésus étant réveillé tança le vent, et dit à la mer: « Tais-toi, calme-toi. » Et le vent s’apaisa, et il se fit un grand calme.

MÉDITATION:
Saisis de peur quand la tempête menaça leur barque au milieu de la mer, les disciples ont du réveiller Jésus qui s’en dormait.
Jésus était avec eux dans la même barque.
Nous pouvons nous imaginer si Jésus n’était pas dans la barque avec eux, ce qui allait leur arriver.
Bien sûr, ils allaient y périr.
Il en est de même pour notre vie:
Nous traversons aussi des tempêtes de la vie qui nous font peur.
Si nous n’avons pas avec nous Jésus pour qu’il les fasse taire, ils nous emportent.
Heureusement, chez ceux qui l’ont accepté comme leur Roi et leur sauveur, il est toujours là durant les tempêtes de la vie, à dire des choses comme: « Silence, tais-toi ! » (v. 39.)
Lorsque les tempêtes de la vie nous menacent, tournons-nous d’abord vers Jésus, et laissons-lui nous remplir de la paix que procure le fait de le savoir tout près.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, rappelle-nous de recourir à votre fils lorsque les tempêtes de la vie nous menacent.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

John 11:39
« Take away the stone » said Jesus. « But, Lord », said Martha, the sister of the dead man, « by this time, there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.

MEDITATION:
When the state of health of Lazarus began to deteriorate, his sisters sent a messenger to Jesus to tell him:
« Lord, he whom you love is sick. »
Although he loved him, Jesus did not rush to go to heal him, he went there the fourth day after his death.
At this time, the body of Lazarus smelled bad, and no one wanted to approach the sepulchre.
But when Jesus got there, he said: « Take away the stone ». And when the stone was removed, Jesus approached the body of Lazarus and resurrected him.
Some of the difficult situations corner us also. When we do not see the immediate relief of Jesus, we may believe that God abandons us!
And yet, to God, it is never late, because he is All-Powerful.
If so, Jesus did not rush to go to heal Lazarus, it is because he wanted to reveal to people the reality that: « Nothing is impossible with God. »
Thus, we have no reason to despair in some situations and to say: « it is finished ! »
Let us take away doubt and lack of trust in God from our hearts, and let Jesus come into our lives to resurrect all that, in us, is hopelessly « dead ».

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to recognize your power in all conditions.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Jean 11:39
« Otez la pierre », dit Jésus. Marthe, la sœur de celui qui était mort, lui dit: « Seigneur, il sent déjà, car il y a quatre jours qu’il est là. »

MÉDITATION:
Lorsque l’état de santé de Lazare a commencé à se détériorer, ses soeurs ont envoyé un messager à Jésus pour lui dire:
« Seigneur, celui que vous aimez est malade. »
Bien qu’il l’aimait, Jésus, ne s’est pas précipité pour aller le guérir, il n’y est allé qu’au quatrième jour après sa mort.
À ce moment là, le corp de Lazare sentait mal, et personne ne voulait s’approcher du sépulcre.
Mais quand Jésus y est arrivé, il a dit: « Otez la pierre ». Et quand la pierre a été enlevé, Jésus s’est approché du corp de Lazare et l’a ressuscité.
Certaines situations difficiles nous acculent aussi. Quand nous n’y voyons pas le secours immédiat de Jésus, il peut nous arriver de croire que Dieu nous abandonne !
Et pourtant, pour Dieu, il n’est jamais tard, parce qu’il est Tout-Puissant.
Si alors Jésus ne s’est pas précipité pour aller guérir Lazare, c’est parce qu’il voulait révéler aux hommes la réalité suivante: « Rien n’est impossible à Dieu. »
Nous n’avons donc pas raison de désespérer dans certaines situations et de nous dire: « c’est fini !  »
Ôtons de nos coeurs, le doute et le manque de confiance en Dieu et laissons Jésus entrer dans nos vies pour ressusciter tout ce qui, en nous, est désespérément « mort ».

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de reconnaître votre puissance en toutes les conditions.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

Zechariah 9:12
Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.

MEDITATION:
This is a message full of hope: « GOD WANTS TO RESTORE DOUBLE TO US FOR EVERYTHING WE HAVE LOST. »
In fact, God can restore double to us in quantity and in quality, as He has already done for others !
When Job lost everything, He kept his trust and faith in God. And « the Lord has given twice as much as he had before » (Job 42:10).
When David lost the child he had with bathsheba, he stopped pleading and started worshipping God because he trusted in the mercy of God. Later, God blesses David and bathsheba with another son named Solomon, who became king the wisest and the richest that the world has ever known.
Today, it is to us that God promises to restore double for our trouble – « Even today, I declare that I will restore double to you. »
As He had said that, He will do it!
Let’s keep our trust and our faith in God and expect double of everything we have lost.
This verse calls us « prisoners of hope ».
It is precisely because we must remain full of hope that God holds for us a lot of good things.
Then, in the time of hardship, we do not have to worry about. We have to worship instead of God like David and Job did, and to consider these moments as an opportunity for God to grant us more than what we had before.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, strengthen in us the confidence and the faith in your mercy.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
