The Bible warns us against things that may seem good to us, or good at the time, but whose result is death, failure, hardship, in short, ending in disaster.

« There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. »(Proverbs 14:12)

We make bad choices because either we have false prejudices, or we lack sufficient and useful informations, or because our emotions have deceived us.
To avoid making bad choices, we must:
-Take the time to analyze with our logic by listing the advantages and disadvantages of a difficult decision,
-Ask for opinions and advice from people we believe to be wiser or more experienced than us,
-Pray and ask for the light of the Holy Spirit to enlighten our choices.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, assist us in making our life decisions.

La Bible nous met en garde contre des choses qui peuvent nous paraitre bien, ou bonnes sur le coup mais dont le résultat est la mort, l’échec, la galère, bref qui se terminent en catastrophe.

« Telle voie paraît droite à un homme, Mais son issue, c’est la voie de la mort. »(Proverbes 14:12)

Nous faisons de mauvais choix parce que, soit nous avons de faux préjugés, soit nous manquons d’informations suffisantes et utiles, ou encore parce que nos émotions nous ont trompés.
Pour éviter de faire de mauvais choix, nous devons:
-Prendre le temps d’analyser avec notre logique en listant les avantages et les inconvénients d’une décision difficile,
-Demander des avis et des conseils à des personnes que nous estimons être plus sages ou plus expérimentés que nous,
-Prier et demander la lumière du Saint Esprit afin d’éclairer nos choix.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, assistez-nous dans la prise de nos décisions pour la vie.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

Wrists and ankles pierced by the nails attaching him to the cross, Jesus observed the audience who insulted him and mocked him, then he launched this prayer to heaven:
« Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. »(Luke 23:34)

Indeed, they did not know what they were doing because they did not know that death had no power over the one they wanted to kill on the cross.

Do men know what they are doing when they sin?
No, they don’t know that they are choosing eternal death when Jesus was nailed to the cross so that they would have eternal life!
Do they know what they are doing when they secretly plan evil and hide to do it?
No, they ignore that God sees everywhere, even in the depths of their hearts.
Do they know what they are doing when they become arrogant and proud?
No, they ignore that God hates and humiliates arrogant and proud people.
Do they know what they are doing when they wish evil on others?
No, they don’t know that what they wish for others can also happen to them.

« Let’s hate what is evil and cling to what is good. »(Romans 12:9)

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to hate evil in all its forms.

Poignets et chevilles percés par les clous l’attachant à la croix, Jésus observait l’assistance qui l’insultait et le moquait, puis il a lancé au ciel cette prière:
« Père, pardonne-leur car ils ne savent ce qu’ils font. »(Luc 23:34)

Effectivement, ils ne savaient pas ce qu’ils faisaient parce qu’ ils ignoraient que la mort n’avait pas de pouvoir sur celui qu’ils voulaient tuer sur la croix.

Est-ce que les hommes savent ce qu’ils font lorsqu’ils pèchent ?
Non, ils ne savent pas qu’ils choisissent la mort éternelle alors que Jésus a été cloué sur la croix pour qu’ils aient la vie éternelle!
Savent-ils ce qu’ils font lorsqu’ils planifient le mal dans le secret et se cachent pour le faire?
Non, ils ignorent que Dieu voit partout, même au fond de leurs coeurs.
Savent-ils ce qu’ils font lorsqu’ils deviennent arrogants et orgueilleux?
Non, ils ignorent que Dieu déteste et humilie les personnes arrogantes et orgueilleuses.
Savent-ils ce qu’ils font lorsqu’ils souhaitent le mal aux autres?
Non, ils ignorent que ce qu’ils souhaitent aux autres peut aussi leur arriver.

« Ayons le mal en horreur; attachons-nous fortement au bien. »(Romains 12:9)

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de haïr le mal sous toutes ses formes.

The word of God does not promise us to never be tempted. No, it rather reassures us that we will never be tempted beyond our strength.

« No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. »(1 Corinthians 10:13)

Indeed, we are always all tempted, but God always makes available to us the strength to endure any temptation and the means to get out of it.
No temptation, however strong it may be, can therefore be an alibi for our sin.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to always bear temptations and to know how to come out of them.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

La parole de Dieu ne nous promet pas de ne jamais être tentés. Non, Elle nous rassure plutôt que nous ne serons jamais tentés au dessus de nos forces.

« Toutes les tentations que vous avez rencontrées étaient normales pour des hommes et des femmes. Dieu est fidèle, et il ne permettra pas que vous soyez tentés au-dessus de vos forces. »(1 Corinthiens 10:13)

Effectivement, nous sommes toujours tous tentés, mais Dieu met toujours à notre disposition la force de supporter toute tentation et le moyen d’en sortir.
Aucune tentation, si forte puisse-elle être, ne peut donc être un alibi pour notre péché.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, aidez-nous à toujours supporter les tentations et à savoir nous en sortir.

Who will enter the kingdom of heaven?
Jesus answers this question as follows:
« Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. »(Matthew 7:21)
And he adds:
« Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? »(Luke 6:46)

So what will happen on Judgment day?
Jesus says that he will not open the door of the Kingdom of Heaven to Christians who will not have repented of their sins.
He will tell them:
« I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers! »(Luke 13,25-27)
It is the same for the « servants of God » who will not have repented of their sins. They will also be denied entry into the Kingdom of Heaven.
They will certainly say to Jesus:
« Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? »
And Jesus will answer them:
« I never knew you, away from me, you evildoers! » (Matthew 7:22-23)

Although we say « Lord, Lord! », if we do not repent of our sins, we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to repent of all sins.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Qui entreront dans le royaume des cieux ?
Jésus répond à cette question comme suit:
« Ce n’est pas tout (homme) qui me dit : «Seigneur, Seigneur !» qui entrera dans le Royaume des cieux, mais celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux. »(Matthieu 7:21)
Et il ajoute:
« Pourquoi donc m’appelez-vous: «Seigneur, Seigneur» et ne faites-vous pas ce que je dis! »(Luc 6:46)

Que se passera-t-il alors au jour du jugement?
Jésus dit qu’il n’ouvrira pas la porte du Royaume des cieux aux chrétiens qui ne se seront pas repentis.
Il leur dira:
« Je ne sais pas d’où vous êtes, éloignez-vous de moi, vous tous qui commettez l’injustice. »(Luc 13,25-27)
Il en est de même pour les « serviteurs de Dieu » qui ne se seront pas repentis de leurs péchés. Ils se verront aussi refusés d’entrer dans le Royaume des cieux.
Ils diront certainement à Jésus:
« Seigneur, Seigneur, n’est-ce pas en ton nom que nous avons prophétisé, en ton nom que nous avons chassé les démons, en ton nom que nous avons fait de nombreux miracles ? »
Et Jésus leur répondra:
« Je ne vous ai jamais connus, écartez-vous de moi, vous qui commettez l’iniquité! »(Matthieu 7:22-23)

Quoique nous disions «Seigneur, Seigneur !», si nous ne nous repentons pas de nos péchés, nous n’entrerons pas dans le Royaume des cieux.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de nous repentir de tous les péchés.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.
So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard:
“For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil? »
But the winemaker replied:
“Sir, leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.”
(Read Luke 13:1-9)

It has been many years since we were baptized, so where are the fruits of the word of God that we have learned?
And if we don’t bear fruit like this fig tree, do we deserve to perish immediately?
In principle YES, but our Lord « is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. »(2 Peter 3:9)
However, let us not abuse God’s patience, let us repent today and now, for, regardless of the times of ignorance, God « now commands all people everywhere to repent. »(Acts 17:30)

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, give us strength and courage to repent now.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Quelqu’un avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne. Il vint chercher du fruit sur ce figuier,
et n’en trouva pas. Il dit alors à son vigneron :
“Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit sur ce figuier, et je n’en trouve pas. Coupe-le. À quoi bon le laisser épuiser le sol ?”
Mais le vigneron lui répondit :
“Maître, laisse-le encore cette année, le temps que je bêche autour pour y mettre du fumier. Peut-être donnera-t-il du fruit à l’avenir. Sinon, tu le couperas.”
(Lire Luc 13:1-9)

Voilà plusieurs années que nous avons été baptisés, où sont alors les fruits de la parole de Dieu que nous avons apprise?
Et si nous ne portons pas de fruits comme ce figuier, méritons-nous de périr immédiatement?
En principe OUI, mais notre Seigneur « use de patience envers nous, ne voulant pas qu’aucun périsse, mais voulant que tous arrivent à la repentance. »(2 Pierre 3:9)
Toutefois, n’abusons pas de la patience de Dieu, repentons-nous aujourd’hui et maintenant, car, sans tenir compte des temps d’ignorance, « Dieu annonce maintenant à tous les hommes, en tous lieux, qu’ils aient à se repentir. »(Actes 17:30)

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous la force et le courage de nous repentir maintenant.
