There was in Joppe, a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas who was full of good deeds and almsdeeds which she did.

And it came to pass in those days that she was sick and died.
It was then that her friends went to call Piter to come and see her.

Upon Peter’s arrival into the upper chamber where Tabitha’s body had been laid, « all the widows stood about him, weeping and shewing him the coats and garments which Dorcas made them. »(Acts 9:39)

And you, when you die, what will those who will come to pay you their last respects say?
Will they mourn you?
Will you leave a memory of good deeds or a memory of bad acts of wickedness?
Beloved, let’s always do good deeds as long as we live.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us the courage to always do good deeds.

Il y avait à Joppé, parmi les disciples, une femme nommée Tabitha, ce qui signifie Dorcas, qui faisait beaucoup de bonnes oeuvres et d’aumônes.

Elle tomba malade en ce temps là et mourut. C’est alors que ses amis allèrent appeler Pierre pour qu’il vienne la voir.

À l’arrivée de Pierre dans cette chambre haute où le corps de Tabitha avait été déposé, « toutes les veuves l’entourèrent en pleurant, et lui montrèrent les tuniques et les vêtements que faisait Dorcas pendant qu’elle était avec elles. »(Actes 9:39)

Et toi, quand tu mourras, que diront ceux qui viendront te rendre les derniers hommages ?
Te pleureront-ils ?
Auras-tu laissé un souvenir de bonnes œuvres ou un souvenir de mauvais actes de méchanceté ?
Bien-aimées, faisons toujours de bonnes œuvres tant que nous vivons.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous le courage de toujours faire de bonnes œuvres.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions. Amen.

The word of God exhorts us to be models of good works.

« In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness… »(Titus 2:7)

In fact, we don’t just need to take a Bible and roam the streets of the neighborhood to talk about Jesus.
No, our actions and the different services we serve to others can better be as a witness and a tool for evangelization.
Our deeds and service give the opportunity to others to see that it is Christ Himself who lives and works in us.
And that’s how our behaviors become somehow the only bible that pagans can read in their lifetime.
Are we then an authentic Bible? A Bible that makes others want to know more about God?

Let’s preach by our deeds.

La parole de Dieu nous exhorte à être des modèles de bonnes œuvres.

”…te montrant toi-même à tous égards un modèle de bonnes oeuvres, et donnant un enseignement pur, digne… »(Tite 2:7)

En effet, nous n’avons pas besoin seulement de prendre une bible et sillonner les rues du quartier pour parler de Jésus.
Non, nos actes et les différents services que nous rendons aux autres peuvent mieux servir de témoignage et d’outil d’évangélisation.
Nos actes et nos services permettent aux autres de voir que c’est Christ Lui-même qui vit et agit en nous.
Et c’est ainsi que notre comportement devient en quelque sorte la seule Bible que les païens puissent lire de toute leur vie.
Sommes-nous alors une Bible authentique? Une bible qui donne envie de connaître plus Dieu ?

Prêchons par nos actes.

Muby’ukuri, ntidukeneye gufata Bibiliya no kuzerera gusa mu mihanda y’abaturanyi kugira ngo tuvuge ibya Yesu.
Oya, ibikorwa byacu n’ ubufasha butandukanye duha abandi birashobora kuba byiza nk’ubuhamya n’igikoresho cyo kuvuga ubutumwa.
Ibikorwa byacu na serivisi zacu, bituma abandi babona ko Kristo ubwe aba kandi akorera muri twe.
Kandi, ni muri ubwo buryo nyine imyitwarire yacu ihinduka ikaba, mu bundi buryo, nka bibiliya abapagani bashobora gusoma mu buzima bwabo.

In the Bible, the concept of destroying barriers is used metaphorically to speak of reconciliation and unity among people.

Don’t you have barriers to distroy in your life?

Since there was an incident between you and your brother, your sister, your friend, your neighbor, your colleague, Satan took the opportunity to build the dividing wall of hostility, enmity between you.
How long will you remain in this situation of enmity?

Jesus Christ does not support this situation, « For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility… »(Ephesians 2:14-16)

If then you want to destroy these barriers, these dividing wall of hostility, be humble, approach those you have offended, ask their forgiveness and be reconciled with them. Only forgiveness and reconciliation can destroy these barriers that isolate you.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us strength and courage to destroy all the barriers, walls of hostility that isolate us from others.

Dans la Bible, le concept de démolition d’un mur est utilisé métaphoriquement pour parler de la réconciliation et de l’unité entre les peuples.

N’aurais-tu pas des murs à démolir dans ta vie?

Depuis qu’il y a eu un incident entre toi et ton frère, ta soeur, ton ami, ton voisin, ton collègue, Satan en a profité pour élever des murs de séparation, l’inimitié entre vous.
Jusqu’à quand allez-vous rester dans cette situation d’inimitié?

Jésus-Christ ne supporte pas cette situation, « Car il est notre paix, lui qui des deux n’en a fait qu’un, en détruisant le mur de séparation, l’inimitié… »(Éphésiens 2:14-16)

Si alors tu veux démolir ces murs de séparation, l’inimitié, sois humble, approches ceux que tu as offensé, demandes leur pardon et reconcilies-toi avec eux. Seuls le pardon et la réconciliation peuvent démolir ces murs qui t’isolent.

PRIÈRE:
Éternel notre Dieu, donnez-nous de la force et le courage de démolir tous les murs de séparation qui nous isolent des autres.
