Although you may not be a judge in a court of law, in one way or another, you still judge.
If not in a jury, you judge others when you have something to say about them.
Have you always been fair in your judgments?
The Bible says:
“Do not pervert justice.”(Leviticus 19:15)
No one likes to be judged but every day, whether we like it or not, we (and others) make choices that are influenced by our judgments.
And we read again in the Old Testament that in judgment upon the nation of Israel, God used to send a conquering army, a plague or a drought,
etc. to strike the nation until they did His will.
In the New Testament, God revealed Himself as a loving and merciful God.
However, although our God is love (1 John 4:8), He is also Holy and Just and He wants us to be as holy and just as He is.
This verse from the Old Testament: “Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly”(Leviticus 19:15), reveals to us that God wants us too to have fair judgments like Him.
Even Jesus reminds us of this in the New Testament where he tells us:
“Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly”(John 7:24).
Faced with the choices and decisions we have to make today, let us ask God to inspire us according to His justice.
