Luke 15:22–23
But the father said to his servants, « Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry. »

MEDITATION:
The return of the prodigal son, his father has not cursed, nor insult, nor scolded, nor cursed !
He welcomed him with happiness and joy. He said to his servants: « Bring the best robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet. Bring also the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us make a feast of rejoicing ».
For his father, it was a great opportunity to show him how much he loved him, and, because of this love, to give him what he had lost.
Like this father, our Father in heaven also desires to show us his love and, because of his love, to give us also what we have lost when we were away from Him and his ways.
In fact, some of our pathways are different from those of God can cause us the loss of our property, our employment, contract work, our good health, our good home, etc
If we decide to give up the evil ways, to return to God to follow his ways, God does not condemn us, He get there rather a good opportunity to restore what we have lost.
Even if, like the prodigal son, we may feel far from our heavenly Father, or if we feel we have disappointed, we have no reason to despair.
The truth is that, at the time when we come to him, God is pleased with our return to Him.
He immediately restores to us the robe of honor to clothe our nakedness, the ring of authority to declare our position of power and dominion, and the sandals on our feet (which servants do not wear) to reinstate us as a son in His house.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us the strength and the courage to leave our evil ways to get back to You.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Luc 15:22-23
Mais le père dit à ses serviteurs: « Apportez la plus belle robe et l’en revêtez; mettez-lui un anneau au doigt et des souliers aux pieds. Amenez aussi le veau gras et tuez-le; faisons un festin de réjouissance ».

MÉDITATION:
Au retour du fils prodigue, son père ne l’a ni injurié, ni insulte, ni grondé, ni maudit !
Il l’a accueilli avec bonheur et joie. Il a dit à ses serviteurs: « Apportez la plus belle robe et l’en revêtez; mettez-lui un anneau au doigt et des souliers aux pieds. Amenez aussi le veau gras et tuez-le; faisons un festin de réjouissance ».
Pour son père, c’était une belle occasion de lui montrer à quel point il l’aimait et, à cause de cet amour, de lui rendre ce qu’il avait perdu.
Comme ce père, notre Père céleste désire aussi nous témoigner son amour et, à cause de son amour, nous rendre aussi ce que nous avons perdu au moment où nous nous étions éloignés de Lui et de ses voies.
En effet, certaines de nos voies différentes de celles de Dieu peuvent nous provoquer la perte de nos biens, de notre emploi, d’un contrat de travail, de notre bonne santé, de notre bon foyer, etc.
Si nous décidons d’abandonner les mauvaises voies, de revenir à Dieu pour suivre ses voies, Dieu ne nous condamne pas, Il y trouve plutôt une bonne occasion de nous rendre ce que nous avons perdu.
Même si, comme le fils prodigue, nous pouvons nous sentir loin de notre Père céleste, ou si nous avons l’impression de l’avoir déçu, nous n’avons pas raison de désespérer.
La vérité est que, au moment où nous venons à lui, Dieu se réjoui de notre retour à Lui.
Ainsi, Il nous rend immédiatement la robe d’honneur pour revêtir notre nudité, l’autorité qui permet de déclarer notre position de puissance et de domination et les sandales à nos pieds (que les serviteurs ne portent pas) pour nous réintégrer en tant que fils dans sa maison.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous la force et le courage de quitter nos mauvaises voies pour revenir à vous.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

Mark 4:39
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, « Quiet ! Be still !  » Then the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

MEDITATION:
Entered afraid when the storm threatened their ship in the middle of the sea, the disciples had to wake Jesus who was sleeping.
Jesus was with them in the same boat.
We can imagine if Jesus was not in the boat with them, what was going to happen to them.
Of course, they would perish.
It is the same for our lives:
We go across the storms of life that we are afraid of.
If we do not have with us Jesus so that he could tell them to be silent, they carry us.
Fortunately, among those who have accepted him as their King and their saviour, he is always there during the storms of life, to say things like: « Silence, shut up ! » (v. 39.)
When the storms of life threaten us, let us turn first to Jesus, and let him fill us with the peace that comes from being with him.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, reminds us of resorting to your son when the storms of life threaten us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Marc 4:39
Jésus étant réveillé tança le vent, et dit à la mer: « Tais-toi, calme-toi. » Et le vent s’apaisa, et il se fit un grand calme.

MÉDITATION:
Saisis de peur quand la tempête menaça leur barque au milieu de la mer, les disciples ont du réveiller Jésus qui s’en dormait.
Jésus était avec eux dans la même barque.
Nous pouvons nous imaginer si Jésus n’était pas dans la barque avec eux, ce qui allait leur arriver.
Bien sûr, ils allaient y périr.
Il en est de même pour notre vie:
Nous traversons aussi des tempêtes de la vie qui nous font peur.
Si nous n’avons pas avec nous Jésus pour qu’il les fasse taire, ils nous emportent.
Heureusement, chez ceux qui l’ont accepté comme leur Roi et leur sauveur, il est toujours là durant les tempêtes de la vie, à dire des choses comme: « Silence, tais-toi ! » (v. 39.)
Lorsque les tempêtes de la vie nous menacent, tournons-nous d’abord vers Jésus, et laissons-lui nous remplir de la paix que procure le fait de le savoir tout près.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, rappelle-nous de recourir à votre fils lorsque les tempêtes de la vie nous menacent.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

John 11:39
« Take away the stone » said Jesus. « But, Lord », said Martha, the sister of the dead man, « by this time, there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.

MEDITATION:
When the state of health of Lazarus began to deteriorate, his sisters sent a messenger to Jesus to tell him:
« Lord, he whom you love is sick. »
Although he loved him, Jesus did not rush to go to heal him, he went there the fourth day after his death.
At this time, the body of Lazarus smelled bad, and no one wanted to approach the sepulchre.
But when Jesus got there, he said: « Take away the stone ». And when the stone was removed, Jesus approached the body of Lazarus and resurrected him.
Some of the difficult situations corner us also. When we do not see the immediate relief of Jesus, we may believe that God abandons us!
And yet, to God, it is never late, because he is All-Powerful.
If so, Jesus did not rush to go to heal Lazarus, it is because he wanted to reveal to people the reality that: « Nothing is impossible with God. »
Thus, we have no reason to despair in some situations and to say: « it is finished ! »
Let us take away doubt and lack of trust in God from our hearts, and let Jesus come into our lives to resurrect all that, in us, is hopelessly « dead ».

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to recognize your power in all conditions.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Jean 11:39
« Otez la pierre », dit Jésus. Marthe, la sœur de celui qui était mort, lui dit: « Seigneur, il sent déjà, car il y a quatre jours qu’il est là. »

MÉDITATION:
Lorsque l’état de santé de Lazare a commencé à se détériorer, ses soeurs ont envoyé un messager à Jésus pour lui dire:
« Seigneur, celui que vous aimez est malade. »
Bien qu’il l’aimait, Jésus, ne s’est pas précipité pour aller le guérir, il n’y est allé qu’au quatrième jour après sa mort.
À ce moment là, le corp de Lazare sentait mal, et personne ne voulait s’approcher du sépulcre.
Mais quand Jésus y est arrivé, il a dit: « Otez la pierre ». Et quand la pierre a été enlevé, Jésus s’est approché du corp de Lazare et l’a ressuscité.
Certaines situations difficiles nous acculent aussi. Quand nous n’y voyons pas le secours immédiat de Jésus, il peut nous arriver de croire que Dieu nous abandonne !
Et pourtant, pour Dieu, il n’est jamais tard, parce qu’il est Tout-Puissant.
Si alors Jésus ne s’est pas précipité pour aller guérir Lazare, c’est parce qu’il voulait révéler aux hommes la réalité suivante: « Rien n’est impossible à Dieu. »
Nous n’avons donc pas raison de désespérer dans certaines situations et de nous dire: « c’est fini !  »
Ôtons de nos coeurs, le doute et le manque de confiance en Dieu et laissons Jésus entrer dans nos vies pour ressusciter tout ce qui, en nous, est désespérément « mort ».

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de reconnaître votre puissance en toutes les conditions.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

Zechariah 9:12
Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you.

MEDITATION:
This is a message full of hope: « GOD WANTS TO RESTORE DOUBLE TO US FOR EVERYTHING WE HAVE LOST. »
In fact, God can restore double to us in quantity and in quality, as He has already done for others !
When Job lost everything, He kept his trust and faith in God. And « the Lord has given twice as much as he had before » (Job 42:10).
When David lost the child he had with bathsheba, he stopped pleading and started worshipping God because he trusted in the mercy of God. Later, God blesses David and bathsheba with another son named Solomon, who became king the wisest and the richest that the world has ever known.
Today, it is to us that God promises to restore double for our trouble – « Even today, I declare that I will restore double to you. »
As He had said that, He will do it!
Let’s keep our trust and our faith in God and expect double of everything we have lost.
This verse calls us « prisoners of hope ».
It is precisely because we must remain full of hope that God holds for us a lot of good things.
Then, in the time of hardship, we do not have to worry about. We have to worship instead of God like David and Job did, and to consider these moments as an opportunity for God to grant us more than what we had before.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, strengthen in us the confidence and the faith in your mercy.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Zacharie 9:12
Retournez à la forteresse, captifs pleins d’espérance ! Aujourd’hui encore je le déclare : je te rendrai au double.

MÉDITATION:
Voilà un message plein d’espoir: « DIEU VEUT NOUS RENDRE LE DOUBLE DE TOUT CE QUE NOUS AVONS PERDU. »
En effet, Dieu peut nous rendre le double, de sorte que nous aurons plus qu’avant en quantité comme en qualité comme il l’a déjà fait pour les autres !
Quand Job a tout perdu, Il a gardé sa confiance et sa foi en Dieu. Et « le Seigneur lui a donné deux fois plus qu’auparavant » (Job 42:10).
Quand David a perdu l’enfant qu’il avait eu avec Bath-Shéba, il a cessé de plaider et a commencé à adorer Dieu parce qu’il avait confiance en la miséricorde de Dieu. Plus tard, Dieu bénit David et Bath-Shéba avec un autre fils nommé Salomon, qui devint le roi le plus sage et le plus riche que le monde ait jamais connu.
Aujourd’hui, c’est à nous que Dieu promet de rétablir le double pour notre peine – « Même aujourd’hui, je déclare que je vous rendrai le double. »
S’il l’a déclaré, il le fera!
Gardons notre confiance et notre foi en Dieu et attendons le double de tout ce que nous avons perdu.
Ce verset nous appelle des « captifs pleins d’espérance ».
C’est justement parce que nous devons rester pleins d’espérance que Dieu nous réserve beaucoup de bonnes choses.
Alors, dans les moments de dures épreuves, nous n’avons pas à nous inquiéter. Adorons plutôt Dieu comme David et Job l’ont fait et considérons ces moments comme une occasion pour Dieu de nous accorder plus que ce que nous avions avant.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, renforcez en nous la confiance et la foi en votre miséricorde.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

Psalms 107:25,29
« He spoke, and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves of the sea…He stilled the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed. »

MEDITATION:
In Ancient times, the people of the kingdom of Axum(living on the edge of the Red sea in the current Ethiopia) has found that: they could take advantage of the fierce winds of the monsoon to quickly navigate to the sail.
Instead of dreading the high winds and heavy rains, they have learned to navigate in the storm.
Psalm 107 illustrates wonderfully well the fact that God allows the storms to blow over our lives and gives us a suite for the help we need to get through: « for He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind […] and he saveth them out of their distresses »(v. 25,28).
Hebrews 11 lists many people who have taken advantage of their problems to exercise their faith and to taste the grace, the generosity and the deliverance of God: « By faith they conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness of their disease, became mighty in war, turned to flight the armies of the aliens » (v. 33,34). The situations stormy are inevitable. Although we may have the first reaction to run away from the problem, we have the opportunity to ask God to teach us to rely on him to guide us through the storm.
It is better to weather the storm with Christ than to sail in calm waters without him.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, let us keep trust in You in difficult situations.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Psaumes 107:25,29
« Il dit, et il fit se lever un vent de tempête, qui souleva les flots de la mer…Il changea l’ouragan en brise légère, et les vagues de la mer se turent. »

MÉDITATION:
Dans l’Antiquité, le peuple du royaume d’Axum(vivant aux abords de la mer Rouge dans l’actuel Éthiopie) a découvert que l’on pouvait profiter des vents impétueux de la mousson pour naviguer rapidement à la voile.
Au lieu de redouter les grands vents et les pluies fortes, ils ont appris à naviguer dans la tempête.
Le Psaume 107 illustre merveilleusement bien le fait que Dieu permet aux tempêtes de souffler sur notre vie et nous procure en suite l’aide dont nous avons besoin pour les traverser: « Il dit, et il fit souffler la tempête […] et il les délivra de leurs angoisses » (v. 25,28).
Hébreux 11 énumère beaucoup de gens qui ont profité de leurs problèmes pour exercer leur foi et goûter à la grâce, à la générosité et à la délivrance de Dieu: « Par la foi, ils vainquirent des royaumes, exercèrent la justice, obtinrent des promesses, fermèrent la gueule des lions, éteignirent la puissance du feu, échappèrent au tranchant de l’épée, guérirent de leurs maladies, furent vaillants à la guerre, mirent en fuite des armées étrangères » (v. 33,34). Les situations houleuses sont inévitables. Bien que nous puissions avoir pour première réaction de fuir le problème, nous avons la possibilité de demander plutôt à Dieu de nous enseigner à compter sur lui pour qu’il nous guide à travers la tempête.
Il vaut mieux traverser la tempête avec Christ que de naviguer en eaux calmes sans lui.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de garder confiance en vous, dans les situations difficiles.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.
