After he heard that the children of Israel had fled through the desert to the sea, Pharaoh hitched up his chariot, took his people with him and all the chariots of Egypt, and pursued the children of Israel.
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were * »the Egyptians were marching after them… »* (Exodus 14:10)
They were terrified and cried out to the Lord.
If we too look up, we can see our past laden with regret, remorse or nostalgia after us, pursuing us.
And we can be afraid.
But *as Pharaohs and his men could not catch the Israelites to harm them, our bad past cannot change anything about a better future that God has destined for us.*
Our future rehabilitates us, wipes our tears and heals the wounds of the past.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to trust in the way You direct our lives.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
