EN-HAKKORÉ (« `Eyn haq-Qowre' »)

Exhausted and thirsty after having conquered and killed a thousand Philistines among those who wanted to harm him in Lechi, Samson called on the Lord, and said: « Thou hast given this very great deliverance and victory into the hand of thy servant: and behold I die for thirst, and shall fall into the hands of the uncircumcised. »(Judges 15:18)

It was then that God came to his aid, opened a great tooth in the jaw of the ass and waters issued out of it.
« And when he had drunk them, he refreshed his spirit, and recovered his strength. Therefore the name of that place was called En-Hakkoré, The Spring of him that invoked from the jawbone, until this present day. »(Judges 15:19)

Today, our En-Hakkoré is Jesus.

Jesus himself tells us that he is that source of living water that quenches our spiritual thirst.
« The water that I will give him shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up into life everlasting. »(John 4:14 )

When we are exhausted, discouraged, spiritually weakened or overwhelmed by events, let’s go directly to Jesus, to refresh and recover us.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, always revive us when we are spiritually weakened.
It is in your precious name that we pray, Amen.
