At a funeral ceremony, the only son of the deceased, speaks at the end of the ceremony to thank all the guests and he begins by saying this:
“Mr. John (a friend of his father), thank you for coming. Let me tell you that you killed my father. Yes, it is you and your fault”!
All the guests turn to Mr. John, seated in the front row, all eyes on him.
The son raises his arm to brandish a cell phone and says:
« This is my father’s cell phone, the call history shows that in the last 3 months, my father has called you 49 times, you have answered 13 times and each time you have said:
“Please I will call you back”. You have never done so. »
« WhatsApp messages history shows that my father sent you 80 messages, you replied to 19 with the same answer: “Hi brother, I’m too busy these days, I’ll come see you, I promise”. Today is the day you honor that promise. »
« My father informed you of his health condition more than a month ago and you promised to come to see him, but it never happened. I know all these things because I was the one who had his phone and wrote the messages while he told me what he wanted me to write. »
« My father told me one thing, he told me that you were his best friend and that he trusted what you were going to tell him. He even stopped seeing other doctors and taking other medications. He was waiting for you. Today he is no more and you are here. »
After the words of the son of the deceased, a silence reigned throughout the room, we could hear the sound of a feather on a table.
So dear brothers and sisters, remember this:
Never again ignore the calls or messages of a friend, a brother, a colleague or an acquaintance.
Never again say that you know why a person is calling you, it may happen that you have not understood their needs well or that you are unaware of their exact situation.
And if you want to continue to ignore the calls and messages of people who are in need, stop for a moment and imagine if God also ignored your calls or your prayers the day you find yourself in difficulty! What would you do?
Be kind, do not ignore the calls and messages of your friends!
