IMANA yacu n’urukundo, niyo kamere yayo.
« Natwe twamenye kandi twizeye urukundo Imana idufitiye. Imana n’urukundo; kand’ uguma mu rukundo aguma mu Mana, Imana ikaguma muri we. »(1 Yohana 4:16)

Iyo umuntu atazi ko Imana ari urukundo, ahora mu bgoba, n’ivyo akora vyose abikorana ubgoba, ntabikorana urukundo nk’uko Imana ibishaka.
Erega, Imana « yagabiye kera ko duheshwa na Yesu Kristo gucika abana bayo kubgayo, nk’uko yabigomvye bikayihimbara: kugira ng’ubgiza bg’ubuntu bgayo bushimwe, ubgo yatugabiriye mu wo ikunda. »(Abanyefeso 1:5-6)
Kubg’urukundo Imana ikunda umuntu, yamuremye igabiye kumugira umwana wayo.
Natwe nimba turi mu rukundo rwayo, dukwiriye kurabesha ibintu vyose amaso y’urukundo, kwakira no gukoresha ibintu vyose umutima w’urukundo.

The Lord our God forbids us from making, possessing or worshiping idols or any representations.

He said:
« Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God. »(Leviticus 26:1)

But we never stop making idols for ourselves!
Did you know the pictures of Jesus that we have in our homes are idols?
Did you know that bangles bearing pictures of Jesus are idols?
Did you know that necklaces bearing the picture of Jesus are idols?
These are all idols that we believe in because they don’t even bear a true image of Jesus, nor Jesus, but the image of someone else not Jesus.
Besides, no one has a real image of Jesus and no archaeologist has ever had a copy of the image of Jesus.
And even if it were a real image or photo of Jesus, the word of God would not allow us to make an idol of it.
The saddest thing is that there are Christians who believe that these images can protect or bless them.
It’s sad.

The picture of Jesus does not exist and his image is not necessary, because the image by which Jesus wanted us to know him, he showed it to us, is the image of love, of the mercy and courage that led him to the cross.
Jesus doesn’t want us to know him in pictures, he wants us to know his heart, what brought him into the world, what he did on the cross and what he is to us.
Jesus does not want us to recognize him in images, he wants us to recognize him in his words.

PRAYER:
Eternal our God, give us understanding and wisdom so that we may know how to avoid falling into idolatry.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

L’Éternel notre Dieu nous interdit de faire , posséder ou adorer des idoles ou des représentations quelconques.

Il a dit:
« Vous ne vous ferez point d’idoles, vous ne vous élèverez ni image taillée ni statue, et vous ne placerez dans votre pays aucune pierre ornée de figures, pour vous prosterner devant elle; car je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu. »(Lévitique 26:1)

Or, nous ne cessons pas de nous faire des idoles!
Saviez-vous les photos de Jésus que nous avons dans nos maisons, sont des idoles?
Saviez-vous que les bracelets portant les images de Jésus sont des idoles?
Saviez-vous que les colliers portant l’image de Jésus sont des idoles?
Ce sont toutes des idoles auxquelles nous croyons parce qu’elles ne portent même pas une véritable image de Jésus, ni Jésus, mais l’image de quelqu’un d’autre que Jésus.
D’ailleurs personne n’a une veritable image de Jésus et aucun archéologue n’a jamais eu de copie de l’image de Jésus.
Et quand bien même, il s’agirait d’une véritable image ou photo de Jésus, la parole de Dieu ne nous permettrait pas d’en faire une idole.
Le plus triste, c’est qu’il y a des chrétiens qui croient que ces images peuvent les protéger ou les bénir.
C’est triste.

La photo de Jésus n’existe pas et son image n’est pas nécessaire, parce que l’image par laquelle Jésus voulait que nous le connaissions, il nous l’a montrée, c’est l’image de l’amour, de la miséricorde et du courage qui l’ont conduit jusqu’à la croix.
Jésus ne veut pas que nous le connaissions en images, il veut que nous connaissions son cœur, ce qui l’a amené au monde, ce qu’il a fait sur la croix et ce qu’il est pour nous.
Jésus ne veut pas qu’on le reconnaisse dans les images, il veut qu’on le reconnaisse dans sa parole.

PRIÈRE:
Éternel notre Dieu donnez-nous l’intelligence et la sagesse pour que nous sachions éviter de tomber dans l’idolâtrie.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

« Ntimukareme ibigirwamana by’ubusa, ntimugashinge igishushanyo kibajwe cyangwa inkingi y’amabuye, kandi ikibuye cyabajweho ibishushanyo ntimukagishyirire mu gihugu cyanyu, kugira ngo mwikubite imbere yacyo, kuko ndi Uwiteka Imana yanyu. »(Abalewi 26:1)

Ariko biratangaje kubona dukomeza kurema ibigirwamana kugeza n’ubu!
Ese mwari muzi ko kumanika ifoto ya Yesu mu nzu yacu ari ukumanika ikigirwamana?
Mbega mwari muzi ko kwambara igitako kiriko ifoto ya Yesu ari ukwambara ikigirwamana?
Mbega mwari muzi ko kwambara urunigi ruriko ifoto ya Yesu ari ukwambara ikigirwamana?
Ibyo byose n’ibigirwamana twiremera kuko nta n’ubwo ari ifoto nyayo ya Yesu, si Yesu, n’igishushanyo c’undi muntu utari Yesu.
Uretse ibyo, nta muntu ufite ifoto nyayo ya Yesu kandi nta mucukuzi w’ibyataburuwe mu matongo wigeze ugira kopi y’ifoto ya Yesu.
Kandi noneho, n’ubwo yaba ari ifoto nyayo ya Yesu, ijambo ry’Imana ntiryari butwemerere kuyigira ikigirwamana.
Ikibabaje cyane, n’uko hari n’aba Kristo bizera ko ayo mafoto ashobora kubarinda cyangwa kubahezagira.
Birababaje.
Ifoto ya Yesu ntabwo ibaho kandi ntabwo ikenewe, n’igishushanyo cye ntigikenewe, kuko ishusho Yesu yashakaga ko tumumenyaho yarayitweretse, n’ishusho y’urukundo, imbabazi n’ubutwari byamugejeje ku musaraba.
Yesu ntabwo ashaka ko tumumenya mu bishushanyo, ashaka ahubwo ko tumenya umutima we, ko tumenya icamuzanye kw’isi, icyo yakoreye ku musaraba, n’icyo dupfana nawe.
Yesu ntabwo ashaka ko tumumeyera mu mashusho, ashaka ko tumumenyera mw’ijambo rye.

Ariko biratangaje kubona tuguma twironderera ibigirwamana!
Mbega mwari muzi ko kumanika ifoto ya Yesu mu nzu yacu ari ukumanika ikigirwamana?
Mbega mwari muzi ko kwambara igitako kiriko ifoto ya Yesu ari ukwambara ikigirwamana?
Mbega mwari muzi ko kwambara urunigi ruriko ifoto ya Yesu ari ukwambara ikigirwamana?
Ivyo vyose n’ibigirwamana twironderera kuko s’ifoto nyayo ya Yesu, si Yesu, n’igishushanyo c’uwundi muntu atari Yesu.
Uretse ivyo, nta muntu afise ifoto nyayo ya Yesu kandi nta mucukuzi w’ivyataburuwe mu matongo yigeze agira kopi y’ifoto ya Yesu.

Yesu ntashaka ko tumumenya mu bishushanyo, ashaka ahubwo ko tumenya umutima wiwe, ko tumenya icamuzanye kw’isi, ico yakoreye ku musaraba, n’ico dupfana nawe.
Yesu ntashaka ko tumumeyera mu mashusho, ashaka ko tumumenyera mw’ijambo ryiwe.

For having indulged at a certain time in the worship of foreign gods and idols, the children of Israel were punished by God.
God hates his glory being given to another.

« I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols. »(Isaiah 42:8)

If God Himself says He cannot give His glory to another, why do we dare to take His glory to ourselves or to people like us?
There are people, especially those who claim to be servants of God, who, because of their works in their ministries, give themselves or ask people to give them the glory that is intended for God, their master!
There are others who use God’s gifts and do certain good works for their own glory instead of doing them for the glory of God who gave them these gifts and allows them to do these good works!
All of these offend God.

Anyone who withholds glory from God and gives it to a creature who breathes the breath God has given him must know with certainty that he is offending God.
And he who dares to give people more honors, higher honors than he would give to God, must know that he also offends God.
Do not offend God, give Him his glory.

PRAYER:
Eternal our God, help us to never again dare to give the glory reserved for you to anyone.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Pour s’être livré à un certain moment à l’adoration des dieux étrangers et des idoles, les enfants d’Israël ont été punis par Dieu.
Dieu déteste que sa gloire soit accordée à un autre.

«Je suis l’Éternel, c’est là mon nom; Et je ne donnerai pas ma gloire à un autre, Ni mon honneur aux idoles.»(Ésaïe 42:8)

Si Dieu Lui-même dit qu’Il ne peut pas donner sa gloire à un autre, pourquoi osons-nous nous attribuer sa gloire ou la donner à des personnes comme nous?
Il y a des gens, surtout ceux qui prétendent être des serviteurs de Dieu, qui, à cause de leurs œuvres dans leurs ministères, se donnent ou demandent aux gens la gloire qui est destinée à Dieu, leur maître !
Il y en a d’autres qui usent des dons de Dieu et font certaines bonnes œuvres pour leur propre gloire au lieu de le faire pour la gloire de Dieu qui leur a donné ces dons et leur permet de faire ces bonnes œuvres !
Tous ceux-là offenseraient Dieu.

Quiconque refuse la gloire à Dieu et la donne à une créature qui respire le souffle que Dieu lui a donné doit savoir avec certitude qu’il offense Dieu.
Et celui qui ose donner aux gens plus d’honneurs ou des honneurs supérieurs à ceux qu’il donnerait à Dieu, doit savoir qu’il offense également Dieu.
N’offensez pas Dieu, donnez-Lui sa gloire.

PRIÈRE:
Éternel notre Dieu, donnez-nous de ne plus jamais oser donner la gloire qui vous est réservée à qui que ce soit.

A chosen person is dangerous.
Anytime you fight a chosen person, you are bound to fail.

Farah could not kill Moses because Moses was chosen,
Joseph’s brothers could not kill Joseph because Joseph was chosen,
Pilat could not do anything to Jesus because Jesus was chosen.

Jesus said:
« You did not choose me, but I chose you… »(John‬ ‭15:16‬)

We are chosen.
Sometimes those who hate us think that one day they will be able to get us and do us harm.
We don’t have to worry about them, we just have to know that we are chosen by God.
Rejection might have beset our life, but we are chosen by God.
Psalm 118:22 says that ‭‭ »The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. »
We are precious because God has chosen us.

PRAYER:
Eternal God, grant us to be conscious and feel that we are chosen by You.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
