Doctors have discovered that anxiety, stress, fear and anxiety can cause stomach ulcers, high blood pressure and other health problems.
For health reasons, we should avoid worrying.
The Word of God tells us not to worry about our tomorrow (see Matthew 6:34) and rather to ask God for the bread necessary for our sustenance today.
It is certainly for this reason that Jesus taught us to pray as follows:
« Give us today the bread necessary for our sustenance. » (Matthew 6:11)
He did not say: * »Give us today our weekly bread » because God gives us daily bread, not weekly bread and He does not give the bread of tomorrow today as the bread of today is not made for tomorrow!
This means that God wants us to live today without worrying about what will happen or what we need to do tomorrow.
He gives us enough grace for today, not for tomorrow, because, when tomorrow comes, the bread – provision and grace – will be there.
That does not mean we have to stop working and let God take care of our tomorrow. No, we should rather continue doing our works by trusting Him who wants us to confide all our worries (see 1 Peter 5: 7) and enjoying his peace and his life today!
PRAYER:
God our Lord, strengthen the trust we have in You.
It is in the precious name of Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
