As the wicked Haman hated the Jews and sought to exterminate them in a single day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month of Adar, God used Queen Esther and her uncle Mordecai, both Jews, to turn the tables on Haman and save the Jews.
So, on that fateful day when the Jews were to be exterminated, it was Haman who was hanged and the enemies of the Jews who were destroyed!
It was then that letters from Mordecai were sent to all the Jews, prescribing them « to celebrate annually the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar as the time when the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month when their sorrow was turned into joy and their mourning into a day of celebration… »(Esther 9:21-22)
If then our God turned a bad day for the Jews into good days, their mourning into joy, and gave them victory over their enemies, we have a right to hope that He can do the same for us today.
Delivering us from our enemies or from difficult situations, transforming our misfortunes into happiness, our sadness into joy, our worries into assurances, our weaknesses into strengths, are the least things that He who sacrificed his son on the cross for us can do. Let’s trust Him.
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to keep trusting in You in all difficult situations and circumstances.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
