Following a plot by his peers against his person, Daniel was unjustly thrown into the lion’s den by King Darius’ men.
Likely, the lions did nothing to him all night.
* »My God sent his angel who sealed the lions’ jaws; they did me no harm, since in his sight I am blameless… »*(Daniel 6:22)
Although Daniel was blameless in the sight of God, God did not prevent him from being subjected to injustice and being thrown into the lion’s den.
No, *God expressly let Daniel suffer injustice and be thrown into the lion’s den* to find there a good opportunity to have his power recognized.
If God had not delivered Daniel on this occasion and under these circumstances, King Darius and those who had plotted against Daniel would not have recognized the power of the Lord.
* »The king was overjoyed and ordered Daniel to be released from the pit… The king then sent for the men who had accused Daniel and had them thrown into the lion pit, and their wives and children too; and before they reached the floor of the pit the lions had seized them and crushed their bones to pieces. »*(Daniel 6:23-24)
As in the case of Daniel, *God also expressly lets us suffer injustices, persecutions and attacks* in order to find there opportunities to have his power recognized.
Let us always trust Him.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to always trust in You.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
