Our God is just and his justice consists in rendering to each what he deserves for the good or the evil he does.
He said to King Ahab:
* »I will surely make you pay for it. »*
Indeed, Ahab with the complicity of his wife Jezebel had unjustly murdered Naboth and his sons.
And God spoke this prophecy against Ahab:
* »Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, declares the LORD, and I will surely make you pay for it… »* (2 Kings 9:26)
This then is what happened according to the word of the Lord:
Ahab died on the battlefield. (1Kings 22:34-37)
His wife Jezebel was also killed. (2Kings 9:30-37)
Ahaziah, Ahab’s son died stupidly from a fall.
Joram his successor, was assassinated by Jehu who also killed the 70 other sons of Ahab, then their heads were put in baskets (2 Kings 10:7).
This is how God avenged the blood of Naboth and his sons.
Stop hurting others and repent, because, God who not only hears their cries and their lamentations, but also sees their suffering, will surely make you pay for it.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to not hurt others.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
