God created us for relationship.
No human being is called to live in isolation.
Between hearts, God has placed invisible bridges: love, trust, forgiveness, truth, and peace.
These bridges allow lives to connect, wounds to be healed, and fellowship to flow.
But the bridges of the heart are fragile.
A harsh word can crack a bridge.
Pride can weaken its pillars.
Jealousy can eat away at its structure.
Refusing to forgive can block its passage.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21)
Many relationships do not die in a day.
They collapse slowly—through neglect, harshness, or silence.
That is why God’s wisdom calls us: guard your bridges.
Guard the bridge of love, for “love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).
Guard the bridge of forgiveness, for the word of God says: “forgive one another” (Colossians 3:13).
Guard the bridge of peace, for the word of God says: “pursue the things that are of peace, and …keep to the things that are for the edification of one another.” (Romans 14:19).
God Himself is a keeper of bridges.
Sin had carved an abyss between God and humanity, but love built a cross.
And the cross became the bridge of reconciliation.
“For God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.” (2 Corinthians 5:19)
If God keeps the bridge with us, how could we destroy bridges with others?
Today, the Lord may be speaking to you:
Do not let a precious bridge collapse.
Repair what has cracked.
Strengthen what has weakened.
Protect what is still standing.
For where bridges remain, hearts can meet again.
And where hearts meet, God moves.
Guard your bridges.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to guard the bridges You have placed in my life.
Preserve my heart from pride, hardness, and unforgiveness.
Give me the humility to repair what has been broken and the love to protect what is precious.
Make me a peacemaker,
in the likeness of Your heart.
Amen.
