HAVING A GOOD TESTIMONY

There is a deep spiritual truth we often forget: the way we live today is what God will use tomorrow.

At times, we do good, we help, we forgive, we love sincerely… yet no one seems to notice.

Sometimes even those we have supported end up forgetting us. This can be discouraging.
But God’s Word clearly reassures us:
“God is not unjust to forget your work and the love you have shown for His name, in serving and continuing to serve His people.” (Hebrews 6:10)

People may forget, time may erase memories, but God never forgets the good that has been done.
Every act of kindness, every gesture of love, every word of peace is kept before Him.

Doing good is like planting a seed.
A seed does not produce on the same day it is planted. It remains hidden in the soil for a time—unseen, silent… yet alive. Then comes the moment when it sprouts and bears fruit.

This is what happened to Mordecai. He had saved the king’s life, but no honor was given to him immediately.

However, at God’s appointed time, his deed was remembered, and that memory became the door to his promotion (Esther 6).

The good he had done seemed forgotten, but it was simply waiting for God’s timing.
A good testimony also works in the hearts of people.

God can touch someone’s heart, remind them of what you did for them, and that person will say, “This person did me good.”
And your testimony will speak for you, even in your absence.
That memory can then become a source of favor, protection, or blessing.

A good testimony touches hearts, for God has an extraordinary way of working. David experienced this.

Despite King Saul’s hatred, David refused to harm him. Later, Saul himself admitted, “You are more righteous than I; for you have repaid me good, whereas I have repaid you evil.” (1 Samuel 24:17).

David’s integrity had touched his heart. A good testimony can even soften the heart of an enemy.

Let us therefore remember this: let us do good even in secret, keep an upright heart even without recognition, and refuse to let the wrongdoing of others change our goodness.

For the day will come when we will need an open door, and God will use our testimony to open it.

A good testimony is never lost: it is a silent voice today, but a powerful one tomorrow. —

PRAYER:
Lord my God, give me a heart that loves to do good, even in the shadows.
Help me live a life that leaves a good testimony. And when the time comes that I need help, remember the good I have sown, touch hearts, and let my testimony speak on my behalf. Amen.
