Do we really bow our knees to God in sincerity?
Here are four ways to kneel to worship God:
1. The kneeling of our body
« My knees give way from fasting; my body is thin and gaunt. »(Psalms 109:24)
When we bend our knees, our whole body stands before God, this is seen by people and by God.
2. The kneeling of our hearts
« For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them. »(Matthew 13:15)
When our heart is rebellious, our body can be on its knees without our heart being.
3. The kneeling of our will
« Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done »(Luke 22:42)
We kneel our bodies and our hearts before God, but through lack of patience, we let our own will take precedence over that of God.
If we trust Him, His perfect will will become ours.
4. The kneeling of our thoughts
« Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. »(Matthew 22:37)
If our thoughts bow their knees to God, it proves that we love God.
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.”(Psalms 95:6)
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to bow all our knees before You in sincerity.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
