What is jealousy?
Jealousy is that pain that pinches our hearts when we witness happiness or qualities, real or imaginary, that we attribute to others; the discomfort also that we feel at the sight of their prosperity.
The book of Proverbs tells us that “envy rots the bones.”(Proverbs 14:30)
Jealousy is a serious illness of the spirit.
We could even spend our entire existence without realizing that we are affected, undermined and despoiled by this serious illness of the spirit.
But in reality, it is much more humiliating to admit that you are jealous than it is to admit that you have a shameful illness!
Our little pride fiercely rebels against the insinuation that we are envious of someone.
Unfortunately, jealousy destroys us little by little, destroys our self-esteem, our joy and always pushes us to destroy those we are jealous of.
Healing is found with God, and it is in Jesus that we have the medicine.
PRAYER :
Lord our God, save us from the spirit of jealousy and protect us from the evil actions of jealous people.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen
