To settle conflicts, Moses instituted judges to whom he specified the following basic principles of all justice:
« Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone, for judgment belongs to God… » (Deuteronomy 1: 17)
It is therefore necessary to be impartial and fair to judge with justice.
If it happens that we are involved or called to judge in a conflict, a misunderstanding or any case, we must also absolutely be inspired by these principles.
We do not have to act towards others according to this or that person-specific criteria.
Our action must be independent of the person we have in front of us.
In addition, the Word of God warns us about our way of judging:
« The same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. »(Matthew 7:2)
Let us be fair in our judgments.
PRAYER :
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to judge impartially and fairly.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
