Can you imagine that the Lord wants to wash your feet?
Not so simple!
Even Piter could not have imagined it.
He said to the Lord:
« Lord, how can you wash my feet! »
And Jesus answered him:
« Peter, if I do not wash your feet, you will have no part with me. »
Which means that if Peter does not accept Jesus washing his feet, Jesus can not walk together with him in ministry, in service and in efficiency, …
It was then that Peter answered him: « Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head! » (John 13: 9)!
But Jesus said to him:
« He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. (John 13:10).
But not all!
Who then are not purified?
May they let the Lord wash them.
By the way, once we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are bathed everywhere and purified by his blood once and for all!
His blood has perfected us forever (see Hebrews 10:14), and we only need to wash our feet because we walk in the world and our feet pick up dust and dirt, which makes us stumble .
So, how does Jesus wash our feet today?
As Christians, we are cleansed with the washing of water by the Word. The more we follow an anointed teaching that unveils Christ through the Word, the more purification continues. And as our feet are washed, instead of stumbling, we will walk and even run!
PRAY:
Lord Jesus, we thank you for your willingness to wash our feet.
We accept, come cleanse us so that we could walk and walk together with you.
It is in your precious name that we pray.
