The Bible views curses as a consequence of disobedience to God, but also offers a path to redemption and deliverance through faith in Jesus Christ.
« Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” »(Galatians 3:13)
Through the death of Jesus, believers are delivered from the curses of the law.
Who can then curse people whom God Himself has delivered and blessed?
No one can curse a person whom God has delivered and blessed.
Balaam, despite Balak’s attempts, could not curse Israel because God had blessed them.
“How can I curse those whom God has not cursed?”(Numbers 23:8)
People who are blessed and delivered by God are under his protection. Attempts to curse them are ineffective because God’s blessing prevails over any human curse.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant that we may never dare to curse the children of God.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
