Anyone who enjoys a true relationship with God must want to serve Him. And the word of God clearly says that we must serve God.
« Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. »(Romans 12:11)
How then do we serve God?
There are those who believe that going to church regularly or offering certain church services only is serving God. This is wrong, they are deceiving themselves.
The fact of going to church most often or having one or more activities in a church, is not synonymous with SERVING GOD.
SERVING GOD is witnessing God’s love and goodness in everything, always and everywhere, for the glory of God.
More concretely, it is to take care of one’s house, that is to say of one’s husband or wife and children; it is to take care of one’s work, to be at the service of one’s neighbour, to give the best of oneself to make others happy and to avoid harm to them.
Before going to serve in the church, let us first be a good witness of God’s love in our homes, in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our socio-professional circles, so that our service will be pleasing to God.
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to know how to serve you well.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
