Did you know that you can think you’re standing firm without actually being so?
All the Israelites were witnesses to the divine manifestations, the miraculous deliverances, the benefits that God granted them; and yet they perished in the desert.
« So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! »(1 Corinthians 10:12)
Indeed, our temptations are those that happen to all men. And although God is faithful to deliver us from them, we must absolutely remain vigilant (Read 1 Peter 5:8) and flee all sin.
Pretension or conceit is the greatest of all dangers. Whoever realizes this danger is on guard. The safest way is to be aware of your weakness, and not to give in to temptation, because once tempted, you are not always sure of getting out of it.
« Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. »(Matthew 26:41)
PRAYER:
Eternal our God, grant us to be always vigilant to resist all the temptations of the devil.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
