THE POWER OF THE WORD

According to the Bible, God created the universe by His word.
In the book of Genesis, it says: « And God said, ‘Let there be light!’ And there was light. »(Genesis 1:3)
This shows that the divine word has the power to create and manifest reality.

During all the years that He was silent, the earth was empty and formless.
But when He (God) opened His mouth and said « Let there be light », there was light.

Jesus Christ Himself performed miracles through His word.
In the Gospel of Matthew, a centurion asks Jesus to heal his sick servant. Jesus tells him that He will come to his house, but the centurion replies that Jesus only needs to speak a word for his servant to be healed. Jesus admires his faith and says, « Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would. » And at that very hour the servant was healed (Matthew 8:5-13).
To calm the storm while he was in a boat with his disciples, Jesus Christ said a word: « Quiet! Be still! » And immediately the wind died down, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:35-41).
To resurrect Lazarus, Jesus Christ cried out in a loud voice, « Lazarus, come out! » And the dead man came forth, bound hand and foot with linen cloths, and wrapped in a winding sheet (John 11:38-44).
When healing the paralyzed man, Jesus simply said, « Get up, take your mat and go home. » And immediately the man got up, took up his bed, and went gone.(Matthew 9:1-8)
When healing the dying son of a royal official, Jesus said to his father, « Go, your son will live. » And this man having believed the word of Jesus later learned that his son was healed at the very hour that Jesus spoke (John 4:46-53).
These examples illustrate that Jesus exercised his divine power through his word, performing miracles that demonstrated his sovereignty over sickness, the natural elements, and even death. The word of Jesus is thus seen as carrying divine authority, capable of transforming reality in an immediate and powerful way.

Jesus teaches that words spoken in faith have immense power:
« Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. »(Mark 11:23)
This shows that the word, when accompanied by faith, can do extraordinary things.

Are we then aware that our word accompanied by faith is so powerful?
Yes, because, we are children of God, all power has been given to us.
When we then have problems and we do not learn to speak to them, these problems persist.
If we are not aware of this, we cannot dare to lay hands on the sick so that they will be healed.
And when we ourselves become sick, we cannot dare to open our mouths to drive out the disease with a word full of faith.
Oddly enough, we only open our mouths to call for a doctor or to cry for help.

Facing Goliath, David opened his mouth and said to him: « You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head… »(1 Samuel 17:45-47)
Goliath died because David said that he must die.

Every demon in our body, every disease in our body, every pain in our marriage, when we start speaking to it, it starts dying.

The Bible says that our weapons of war are not carnal, they are mighty through God to overthrow the strongholds of the enemy.
« For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. »(2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Let us then cling to GOD, cling to trust, cling to our faith in Jesus Christ, and, full of faith, say with our mouth:
Goliath falls, our Goliath falls,
Cancer falls, tobacco addiction falls, blinded mind falls, infirmity falls, deafness falls, AIDS falls…
Every disease falls, every sin falls, in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to be aware of the power of all our words accompanied by faith.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
