After hearing that there are in the community of Thessalonians, people who are living lives without any discipline, doing no work themselves but interfering with other people’s.
* »In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and call on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earning the food that they eat. »*(2 Thessalonians 3:12)
Indeed, those who do not want to work, often occupy themselves with vain things: they enter unduly into the private lives of others, they meddle in everything that does not concern them, they claim to know everything in everything, and so.
But, in general, the apostle Paul exhorts us to work so as not to depend on others or not to be dependent on them.
Of course, depending itself humiliates and affects our dignity.
And even more, if it happens that we unfortunately depend on ill-intentioned people, they do not hesitate to attack our dignity.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, help those who have no work to find it and those who have it to know how to keep it well.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
