Hebrews 8:12
« I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. »
MEDITATION:
When men look at us, they remember what we were in the past and especially the harm we had done to them in the past.
But God, when he looks at us, He instinctively remembers his covenant made on the cross, through his son Jesus Christ, and looks at us with the eyes of forgiveness.
Willing to forgive us, He can no longer remember our sins as soon as he forgives us.
Why then do we continue to feel guilty after asking for forgiveness?
Even if the world continues to regard us as evil, to judge us and to condemn us, God has already forgotten the sins He has forgiven us.
So we have no reason to continue to feel guilty or to continue to judge those whom God has already forgiven.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to forgive and forget the offenses of our brothers as you do for us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
