Many people live imprisoned…
not behind visible bars,
but in an inner prison made of guilt, shame, and painful memories.
They walk, they talk, they live…
but deep inside, they are bound.
Why?
Because they remain attached to their past mistakes.
Many say:
“God can forgive… but I can’t.”
They keep reliving their errors,
judging themselves,
condemning themselves.
Yet the truth of God is clear:
“If we confess our sins… He forgives us” (1 John 1:9)
When God forgives:
•He no longer condemns
•He no longer accuses
•He no longer reminds you of your past
•He welcomes you as His child
But you… you remain imprisoned.
Not because the door is closed…
but because you refuse to come out.
THE SPIRITUAL REALITY:
Your prison is not closed.
The door is already open through the grace of God.
Jesus paid the price.
Forgiveness is given.
Condemnation is lifted.
Yet many remain seated in their cell…
because they refuse to believe they are free.
Refusing to forgive yourself
is living as if grace does not exist.
It is like a prisoner saying:
“I know the door is open…
but I prefer to stay here,
because I don’t deserve to leave.”
GRACE: THE POWER THAT SETS YOU FREE
Grace is not just forgiveness…
it is a power of transformation.
Titus 2:11–12 tells us:
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”
This means that:
•grace does not leave you as you were
•it lifts you up
•it restores you
•it gives you a new identity
Grace does not say:
“It doesn’t matter.”
It says:
“You are forgiven… now walk in a new life.”
The real battle is not against your past…
but against the lie that tells you that you are still condemned.
It is not God who is holding you back…
it is the way you see yourself.
For the truth of God declares:
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1)
If God no longer condemns you,
why do you still condemn yourself?
If God has set you free,
why do you remain imprisoned?
ACCEPTING GRACE
This is not about excusing sin…
it is simply about accepting the grace of God.
It is:
•accepting forgiveness
•seeing yourself as God sees you
•stopping self-judgment
•walking in freedom
It is saying:
“If God has forgiven me, I will not reject that forgiveness.”
COME OUT!
Today, God is not asking you to pay again…
He is asking you to come out.
Come out of guilt.
Come out of shame.
Come out of self-condemnation.
You are no longer a prisoner.
You are free—start walking like a free person.
The door is open.
Grace is waiting for you.
Do not remain locked in a prison that God has already opened.
PRAYER:
Lord,
I acknowledge that You have already forgiven me.
Help me to accept Your grace.
Set me free from guilt and self-condemnation.
Give me the strength to come out of this inner prison
and walk in the freedom You have given me.
Amen.
