Jesus gives us a good reason to never worry again: It’s because we have a loving Father in heaven.
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.”(Matthew 6:31-32)
In the abovementioned verses, Jesus puts his finger on a problem that we may not be aware of: God knows everything we need.
If we constantly worry about food or clothing, we are acting as if we do not have a Heavenly Father who has promised to take care of us!
Indeed our Father loves us. This is also why he is concerned about knowing our needs and satisfying them.
Consciously or unconsciously, we distrust His goodness and His omnipotence.
However, the Bible tells us:
« Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. »(1 Peter 5:7)
And Jesus reveals a secret to us:
« Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you. »(Matthew 6:33)
Do you trust God as your loving Father?
If you trust Him as your loving Father, worry no more.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to no longer worry.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
