God sacrificed his only son on the cross so that everyone would be freed from the bondage of evil and sin.
« You are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. »(Galatians 4:7)
Why then do many christians like to return to the state of slavery?
Indeed, most people are slaves without even knowing it.
Although they are no longer slaves to sins, they have remained or have become slaves to religious theories, political ideologies, slaves to divisions, or slaves to their own pride, etc.
We must be careful that we may not, in any way, be slaves, because « we have been bought at a price »(1 Corinthians 7:23).
PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to see that we do not become slaves to anyone or anything.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
