HE DID EVIL IN THE EYES OF GOD !

Solomon who received from God the gift of wisdom and who had his father David as an example regarding the relationship with God, did what was wrong in the eyes of God.

« Solomon did evil in the eyes of the LORD; he did not follow the LORD completely, as David his father had done. »(1 Kings 11:6)

What happened then that Solomon came to do evil in the eyes of God when he was wise?

1. His heart was turned away by women:
Solomon loved many women. He had seven hundred wives of princesses plus three hundred concubines. All of these women turned Solomon away from God. (Read 1 Kings 11:3-4)
Anyone who indulges in the love of women is inevitably spiritually weakened.

2. He didn’t stay tuned to God:
Solomon should have applied his own words of wisdom to himself if he had stayed in tune with God.
If we don’t listen to God, we cannot stay in the truth. And to stray from the truth is to do what is evil in the sight of God.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us never to do evil in Your eyes.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
