Éphésiens 2:8
« C’est par la grâce que vous êtes sauvés, par le moyen de la foi; et cela ne vient pas de vous, c’est le don de Dieu. »

MÉDITATION:
Que les gens cessent de se venter ou de se glorifier, nous vivons par la grâce de Dieu.
L’apôtre Paul nous dit que c’est par la grâce que nous sommes sauvés, par le moyen de la foi. Et cela ne vient pas de nous, c’est le don de Dieu. Ce n’est point par les œuvres, afin que personne ne se glorifie (Ép 2.8,9).
C’est dans la grâce de Dieu et dans la foi en l’œuvre achevée de Jésus que notre relation avec Dieu repose en sécurité.
Le salut est donc un exercice de foi en la Parole de Dieu et en son amour et sa protection infaillibles.
Nous pouvons nous attendre à la paix de Dieu lorsque nous acceptons sa grâce.

Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de toujours jouir de votre grâce.

1 Corinthians 16:13
« Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. »

MEDITATION:
We strive to be strong but it’s often just a facade. Despite all our efforts, we realize that we are not up to the task.
Under our brave airs, we are prey to all sorts of fears, insecurities and defects.
Much of our masculinity is pure bluff.
Paul was man enough to admit it: « We too are weak in him » (2 Cor 13.4).
These are not pious words, but a statement that makes us humble. Yet, with seemingly contradictory statements, Paul insists that we must « show courage » (1 Cor 16:13)
How can we be the strong person God wants us to be? Only by putting ourselves back into the hands of God and asking Him to fulfill it in us by His power.
The true strength is the power of God that works in the soul.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, strengthen us at all times.

1 Corinthiens 16:13
« Veillez, demeurez fermes dans la foi, soyez des hommes, fortifiez-vous. »

MÉDITATION:
Nous nous efforçons d’être forts mais ce n’est souvent qu’une façade. Malgré tous nos efforts, nous nous rendons compte que nous ne sommes pas à la hauteur.
Sous nos airs bravaches, nous sommes les proies de toutes sortes de craintes, d’insécurité et de défauts.
Une grande partie de notre masculinité n’est que pur bluff.
Paul était assez homme pour l’admettre: « Nous aussi, nous sommes faibles en lui » (2 Co 13.4).
Ce ne sont pas là des paroles pieuses, mais un constat qui rend humble. Pourtant, par des propos semblant contradictoires, Paul insiste pour dire que nous devons « faire preuve de courage » (1 Co 16.13; Bible du Semeur).
Comment pouvons-nous être la personne forte que Dieu veut que nous soyons ? Uniquement en nous remettant entre les mains de Dieu et en lui demandant de l’accomplir en nous par sa puissance.
La vraie force, c’est la puissance de Dieu qui agit dans l’âme.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

MEDITATION:
The Bible shows us that the most fundamental cause of the problems of our life is condemnation. With conviction comes the fear.
The fear then induces a stress that causes the symptoms of the curse.
This is what happened to Adam.
Long before facing poverty, illness and possibly death, he was stressed.
Because of his sin, God said to him, « You shall eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground » (Genesis 3:19).
Sweat is stress. But before there was stress, there was fear because Adam said to God: « I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid me  » (Genesis 3:10).
But what made Adam fearful?
Adam feared only when, seeing his nakedness, he realized that he had sinned against God.
He felt so ashamed and condemned that he hid. God then asked him, « Who told you that you were naked? » (Genesis 3:11).
There was no one else in the garden than Adam and Eve, so we know that it was probably the devil who told Adam that he was naked.
Beloved, condemnation is the root cause of the symptoms of the curse that manifest in our lives.
That’s why we need to know that at the cross, God took all our sins, placed them on Jesus and unleashed all the fury of his anger against them until Jesus cried out: « it is finished! »
All our sins have been completely punished in the body of Christ who has been condemned for us.
The root cause of all our problems has been addressed.
It means that the devil can not impose the curse in our life outside of our condemnation.
Let those who are not yet in Christ Jesus be so today and now.

Lord our God, give us to abide in Christ.

Romains 8:1
Il n’y a donc maintenant aucune condamnation pour ceux qui sont en Jésus-Christ, [qui ne marchent pas selon la chair].

MÉDITATION:
La Bible nous montre que la cause la plus fondamentale des problèmes de notre vie est la condamnation. Avec la condamnation vient la peur.
La peur induit alors un stress qui provoque les symptômes de la malédiction.
C’est ce qui est arrivé à Adam.
Bien avant de faire face à la pauvreté, à la maladie et éventuellement à la mort, il était stressé.
A cause de son péché, Dieu lui dit: « Tu mangeras du pain à la sueur de ton visage, jusqu’à ton retour au sol » (Genèse 3:19).
La sueur parle de stress. Mais avant qu’il y ait du stress, il y avait de la peur parce qu’Adam a dit à Dieu: « J’ai entendu Ta voix dans le jardin et j’avais peur parce que j’étais nu; et je me suis caché »*(Genèse 3:10).
Mais qu’est-ce qui a rendu Adam craintif? Adam n’a craint que lorsque, voyant sa nudité, il s’est rendu compte qu’il avait péché contre Dieu.
Il se sentait si honteux et condamné qu’il s’est caché. Dieu lui a alors demandé: « Qui vous a dit que vous étiez nu? »(Genèse 3:11).
Il n’y avait personne d’autre dans le jardin qu’Adam et Eve, alors nous savons que c’est probablement le diable qui a dit à Adam qu’il était nu.
Bien-aimés, la condamnation est la cause fondamentale des symptômes de la malédiction qui se manifestent dans notre vie.
C’est pourquoi nous devons savoir qu’à la croix, Dieu a pris tous nos péchés, les a placés sur Jésus et a déclenché toute la fureur de sa colère contre eux jusqu’à ce que Jésus s’écrie: « C’est fini! »
Tous nos péchés ont été complètement punis dans le corps du Christ qui a été condamné pour nous.
La cause fondamentale de tous nos problèmes a été traitée.
Cela signifie que le diable ne peut pas imposer la malédiction dans notre vie en dehors de notre condamnation.
Que ceux qui ne sont pas encore en Jésus-Christ le soient aujourd’hui et maintenant même.

Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de demeurer en Christ.

James 2:23
Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

MEDITATION:
The Bible tells us that there are those who deny the reality of God (2 Pet. 3.4-6), but James reminds us of his divine reality and how an Old Testament believer became God’s friend:
Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
James refers to chapter 15 of the book of Genesis, but he quotes it as having been fulfilled many years later when he « offered his son Isaac on the altar » according to the account of Genesis 22.
The sacrifice of Isaac was the work by which Abraham showed the faith he had had for a long time in the heart.
Our Redeemer God has also done the same thing as Abraham:
He gave his Son to become our true and eternal friend (see Jn 15:15).
He wants us to accept this friendship by believing in him, trusting him and doing his will.
Have you accepted this friendship?
If you have not yet accepted this friendship, do it today and now.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, Give us to believe You and to trust You as Abraham.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.

Jacques 2:23
« Abraham crut à Dieu, et cela lui fut imputé à justice », et il fut appelé ami de Dieu.

MÉDITATION:
La Bible nous dit qu’il y a ceux qui nient la réalité de Dieu (2 Pi 3.4-6), mais Jacques nous rappelle sa réalité divine et comment un croyant de l’Ancien Testament est devenu l’ami de Dieu: « Abraham crut à Dieu, et cela lui fut imputé à justice; et il fut appelé ami de Dieu » (Ja 2.23).
Jacques se réfère au chapitre 15 du livre de la Genèse, mais il le cite comme ayant eu son accomplissement bien des années plus tard quand il « offrit son fils Isaac sur l’autel » selon le récit de Genèse 22.
Le sacrifice d’Isaac était l’œuvre par laquelle Abraham a montré la foi qu’il avait eue depuis longtemps dans le cœur.
Notre Dieu Rédempteur a aussi fait le même acte qu’Abraham:
Il a donné son Fils pour qu’il devienne notre Ami véritable et éternel (voir Jn 15.15).
Il veut que nous acceptions cette amitié en croyant en lui, en lui faisant confiance et en faisant sa volonté.
Auriez-vous accepté cette amitié ?

Psalms 91:10-12
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

MEDITATION:
As our father, God cares for us and protects us.
So we do not have to fear anything (accidents, terrorist attacks, diseases or plagues …), because Heavenly Father loves us and watches over us.
To watch over us and protect us, God uses the angels: He commands his angels to keep us in all our ways.
In the good ways, his angels watch that the devil does not intervene to divert us.
And if by imprudence or disobedience we find ourselves on a wrong path of life, God does not abandon us, He commands his angels to ensure that we do not fall into the traps of the devil.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to remember that you take care of us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

Psaumes 91:10-12
« Le malheur ne viendra pas jusqu’à toi, aucun fléau n’approchera de ta tente. Car il ordonnera à ses anges de te garder dans toutes tes voies. Ils te porteront sur leurs mains, de peur que ton pied ne heurte contre la pierre. »

MÉDITATION:
En tant que notre père, Dieu prend soin de nous et nous protège.
Nous n’avons donc pas à craindre quoi que ce soit (les accidents, les attaques terroristes, les maladies ou les fléaux…), car notre Père céleste nous aime et veille sur nous.
Pour veiller sur nous et nous protéger, Dieu utilise les anges: Il ordonne à ses anges de nous garder dans toutes nos voies.
Dans le bonnes voies, ses anges veillent que le diable ne vienne s’y interposer pour nous détourner.
Et si par imprudence ou désobéissance, nous nous retrouvions sur une mauvaise voie de la vie, Dieu Lui ne nous abandonne pas, Il ordonne ses anges de veiller à ce que nous ne tombions pas dans les pièges du diable.

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de nous rappeler que vous prenez soin de nous.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.

Luke 23:37
« If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself. »

MEDITATION:
The soldiers who watched Jesus mocked him when he was on the cross: approaching, and presenting him with vinegar, they said to him:
« If you, you are the King of the Jews, save yourself » (v 35-37).
That’s how people make fun of us when they find us in difficult situations and conditions.
Those who laugh at us arrogantly remind us of the words we once said frankly, jokingly or unconsciously, wonderful or unpleasant moments we spent in our past, to taunt us, make fun of us or criticize us.
And when they find us in difficult situations, they think it’s over for us!
Jesus had said that he was a king, and those who mocked him, believing it was over for him when they saw him on the cross, found that they were wrong when they saw him again risen.
Indeed, all those who laugh at the people they find in difficult situations, are also mistaken.
God never abandons those who believe and trust Him.
Whether we are criticized, mocked or even condemned, nothing should worry or discourage us if we are aware that He whom we recognize as our King and our Savior, Jesus Christ, can save us from any situation.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us confidence in you when the world turns against us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
