SHARPENED TO SHARPEN

The book of Proverbs says:
« As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. »(Proverbs 27:17)

Iron, symbolizes here human strength, obstinacy, fortitude, honor, courage, sharpness (of body and mind), tenacity, and confidence in power.
Just as iron needs another iron to be sharpened, every man needs another man who encourages him, gives him knowledge, strengthens him and so on.
So, as christians, we have to be continually sharpened and to sharpen others for the glory of God, not for our own glory.
We can sharpen others or be sharpened through the teachings of God’s word, through counseling and various refresher trainings.

So, are you sharp ?
If you are sharp, how many people have you already sharpened for the glory of God?

PRAYER:
Eternal our God, help us to feel the need of being sharpened and to sharpen others.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
