When God wanted to deliver Israel from Egypt, Pharaoh’s heart grew harder and harder. Each refusal made the burden heavier for the people.
But that was not the end: it was the prelude to God’s glory. The greater the oppression, the greater the deliverance that was coming (Exodus 14:13).
In the same way, Joseph went through prison before entering the palace (Genesis 41:41). Daniel faced the lions’ den before his promotion (Daniel 6:23).
Even Jesus endured the cross before the resurrection (Philippians 2:8-9).
In every case, the darkest night preceded the brightest light.
When everything grows darker, remember: God’s light is about to shine. When the burden feels heavy, it means deliverance is near. Just as with Israel, God sometimes allows situations to become impossible so that His glory may be revealed in an undeniable way.
In our lives, when trials intensify despite our prayers, it does not mean God has forgotten us. Rather, it is a sign that He is preparing a greater manifestation of His power.
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all..”(2 Corinthians 4:17)
So, do not lose courage! When everything gets harder, know that God is about to display His glory.
PRAYER:
Almighty God, when situations become heavy in my life, help me keep my eyes fixed on You. Like Israel before the Red Sea, like Joseph in his prison, like Jesus on the cross, I believe my trials are preparing my victory.
Manifest Your glory in my battles, and make my life a living testimony of Your power. In Jesus’ name, amen.
