THE ILLUSORY POWER

Since the beginning, man has always sought the easy way.
He wants to reach the top without going through the valley, to reign without obeying, to be admired without sacrifice.
This thirst opens a dangerous door: Satan offers seductive shortcuts.

In the wilderness, he dared to say to Jesus:
“I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” (Luke 4:6-7)
Jesus refused.
But how many men, even religious ones, accept such compromises to receive a power that shines but destroys!

The Pharisees sought the glory of men rather than the glory of God (John 12:43).

Simon the Sorcerer wanted to buy the gift of God to impress the crowd (Acts 8:18-20).

Today, even some who call themselves servants of God go after and use satanic powers. They do this to elevate themselves, to impress the world, and to perform “miracles” so spectacular that even Jesus Himself never did them. Yet the Bible declares that every believer in Christ can manifest God’s power through true miracles (Mark 16:17-18), but always for God’s glory, not man’s.

But there is a difference between the power that comes from below and the power that comes from above.

The power Satan gives leads to pride, bondage, and death.

The power the Holy Spirit gives leads to humility, service, and eternal life.

True power is not about dominating others or impressing crowds, but about serving with the love of Christ. As Jesus said:
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.” (Acts 1:8)

PRAYER:
Lord, keep me from seeking the easy power that leads to ruin. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my life may glorify Your Name and serve Your Kingdom.
It is in the name of Jesus Christ that I pray, Amen.
