Psalms 127:2
« It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. »

MEDITATION:
When we have worries, worries or fear, we often lose our sleep and spend sleepless nights.
And yet, as this psalm says, it is in vain that we spend sleepless nights or stress ourselves because of problems that we do not know how to solve, but that Heavenly Father would like to solve with love.
So we have no reason to worry and lose sleep, because our God is concerned with anything that could prevent us from sleeping well.
Just trust in his love.
In the heart of the prison, between two soldiers, tied with chains, Peter slept, and slept so deeply, resting on the promise and sufficiency of the divine resources, that the angel who came to deliver him had to strike his side to wake him up (Acts 12).
Jesus himself did not fail to sleep well, when winds and waves tossed the boat in the middle of the sea (Mark 4).
Instead of letting the worries dominate us, and losing our sleep, even at the risk of losing our health, we should rather throw all our worries, anxieties and worries once and for all into the hands of God.
God asks us to rest, sleep well and let him act while we sleep.
God does not sleep (see Psalm 121: 3-4).
While we sleep, God works on our situation.
If then we throw away all our worries and anxieties once and for all, we will see how he cares for us with affection and vigilance (see 1 Peter 5: 7).
We will see it solve our problems and solve our problems for good (see Romans 8:28).
Beloved, trust our father’s love for us. Let’s throw our worries on him and have no more sleepless nights!

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us always to trust in your love and your power.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.

Psaumes 127:2
« C’est en vain que vous vous levez avant le jour, et que vous retardez votre repos, mangeant le pain de la douleur: il en donne autant à son bien-aimé pendant son sommeil. »

MÉDITATION:
Lorsque nous avons des soucis, des inquiétudes ou de la peur, il nous arrive souvent de perdre notre sommeil et de passer des nuits blanches.
Et pourtant, comme le dit ce psaume, c’est en vain que nous passions des nuits blanches ou que nous nous stressions à cause des problèmes que nous ne savons pas résoudre, mais que notre Père céleste voudrait bien résoudre avec amour.
Nous n’avons donc aucune raison de nous inquiéter et de perdre le sommeil, car notre Dieu se préoccupe de tout ce qui pourrait nous empêcher de bien dormir.
Il suffit de faire confiance en son amour.
Au cœur de la prison, entre deux soldats, lié de chaînes, Pierre lui, dormait, et dormait si profondément, se reposant sur la promesse et la suffisance des ressources divines, que l’ange qui est venu le délivrer à dû frapper son côté pour le réveiller (Actes 12).
Jésus lui-même n’a pas manqué de bien dormir, quand vents et flots ballottaient sa barque au milieu de la mer (Marc 4:37).
Au lieu de laisser les soucis nous dominer, et de perdre notre sommeil, au risque même de perdre aussi notre santé, nous devrions plutôt jeter tous nos soucis, nos angoisses et nos inquiétudes une fois pour toutes dans les mains de Dieu.
Dieu nous demande de nous reposer, de bien dormir et de lui laisser agir pendant que nous dormons.
Dieu ne dort pas (voir Psaume 121: 3-4). Pendant que nous nous dormons, Dieu travaille sur notre situation.
Si alors nous lui jetons tous nos soucis, nos angoisses et nos inquiétudes une fois pour toutes, nous verrons comment il se soucie de nous avec affection et vigilance (voir 1 Pierre 5: 7).
Nous le verrons régler nos problèmes et résoudre nos problèmes pour de bon (voir Romains 8:28).
Bien-aimés, faisons confiance à l’amour de notre père pour nous. Lançons nos soucis sur lui et n’ayons plus de nuits blanches!

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de toujours faire confiance en votre amour et en votre puissance.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

1 Corinthians 2:16
« We have the mind of Christ. »

MEDITATION:
In his first letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul mentions the difference between natural men and spiritual men (1Corinthians 2: 14-15).
For being himself a spiritual man, the Apostle Paul points out their particularity in relation to natural men:
« We have the thought of Christ. »
More concretely, to have the thought of Christ, means « to understand like him, to think like him, to enjoy like him, and to be made capable of having the same affections, the same desires, the same joy as him! »
Is this our case too?
And yet, it is this character that should distinguish us from those who are not Christians!
In reality, as Christians, we should come to possess a nature capable of loving what God loves, a life that can participate in all the perfections of Christ, a power capable of entering into the enjoyment of all thoughts of God!

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to taste, not by intelligence, but by heart, your deep things.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.

1 Corinthiens 2:16
« Nous, nous avons la pensée du Christ. »

MÉDITATION:
Dans sa première épître aux Corinthiens, l’apôtre Paul mentionne la différence entre les hommes naturels et les hommes spirituels(1Corinthiens 2:14-15).
Faisant lui-même partie des hommes spirituels, l’apôtre Paul signale leur particularité par rapport aux hommes naturels:
« Nous, nous avons la pensée du Christ. »
Plus concrètement, avoir la pensée du Christ, signifie « comprendre comme lui, penser comme lui, jouir comme lui, et être rendu capable d’avoir les mêmes affections, les mêmes désirs, la même joie que Lui!
Est-ce notre cas aussi ?
Et pourtant, c’est ce caractère qui devrait nous distinguer de ceux qui ne sont pas chrétiens !
En réalité, en tant que chrétiens, nous devrions arriver à posséder une nature capable d’aimer ce que Dieu aime, une vie qui puisse participer à toutes les perfections de Christ, une puissance capable d’entrer dans la jouissance de toutes les pensées de Dieu!

PRIÈRE:
Seigneur notre Dieu, donnez-nous de goûter, non par l’intelligence, mais par le cœur, vos choses profondes.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.
Amen.

Romans 8:26
The Spirit also help us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us…

MEDITATION:
The Word of God tells us that the Holy Spirit is in us to help us in our weaknesses.
Indeed, during moments of weakness, when we are without strength, when we do not know what and how to pray, the Holy Spirit is there to help us. He intercedes for us with ineffable groans …
However, even if the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, it does not mean that we must stop praying and leave him the prayer!
No, our participation is absolutely required. If we do not pray, even if he wants to pray through us, he can not.
Let the Holy Spirit work in us.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, help us in our moments of spiritual weakness.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
