Bien que certaines conditions de la vie nous poussent à aimer le monde, le monde ne nous aime pas. Il nous trompe et nous ne devrions pas l’aimer.

« N’aimez point le monde, ni les choses qui sont dans le monde. Si quelqu’un aime le monde, l’amour du Père n’est point en lui; car tout ce qui est dans le monde, la convoitise de la chair, la convoitise des yeux, et l’orgueil de la vie, ne vient point du Père, mais vient du monde. Et le monde passe, et sa convoitise aussi; mais celui qui fait la volonté de Dieu demeure éternellement. »(1Jean 2:15-17)

Les choses du monde peuvent être désirées et possédées pour les usages et les desseins que Dieu a prévus, et elles doivent être utilisées par sa grâce et pour sa gloire; mais les croyants ne doivent pas les rechercher ou les valoriser pour les buts auxquels le péché les abuse.
Les choses du monde s’estompent rapidement et meurent. Si les choses du monde ne nous sont pas arrachées de notre vivant, la mort nous en sépare absolument. Pure vanité!

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui êtes aux cieux, donnez-nous de ne pas aimer le monde et les choses du monde.

Although certain conditions in life cause us to love the world, the world does not love us. He deceives us and we shouldn’t like it.

« Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. »(1John 2:15-17)

The things of the world may be desired and possessed for the uses and purposes which God has provided, and they must be used by his grace and for his glory; but believers should not seek them out or value them for the purposes to which sin deceives them.
The things of the world are quickly fading away and dying. If the things of the world are not taken from us in our lifetime, death absolutely separates us from them. Sheer vanity!

Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to not love the world and the things of the world.

The whole Bible is a love story. It is a love story between God and men.
It begins with God, and God is love.
« …God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. »(1 John 4:16)

If the longing to love and to be loved runs so deeply in all our hearts, it proves that we are made in the image of God, to give and to receive love just as God does Himself. That is why, the heart of what the Bible calls “sin” is a misdirected love, a disorder in the affections, loving the wrong things.
And the reality is that sin causes us to hide from the face of God and alienates us from Him.
When Adam loved God, he walked with Him in the garden. But when his love turned, he hid from God.
But fortunately, Jesus came so that He might bring us out of hiding and back into relationship with God. The great purpose for which Jesus suffered was to bring us into His own enjoyment of the Father’s love.
Let us stay in our Father’s love.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to stay in Your love.

Toute la Bible est une histoire d’amour. C’est une histoire d’amour entre Dieu et les hommes.
Cela commence par Dieu car Dieu est amour.
« …Dieu est amour; et celui qui demeure dans l’amour demeure en Dieu, et Dieu demeure en lui. »(1 Jean 4:16)

Si le désir d’aimer et d’être aimé coule si profondément dans tous nos cœurs, cela prouve que nous sommes faits à l’image de Dieu, pour donner et recevoir l’amour comme Dieu le fait Lui-même. C’est pourquoi, le cœur de ce que la Bible appelle « péché » est un amour mal dirigé, un désordre dans les affections, aimer les mauvaises choses.
Et la réalité est que le péché nous pousse à nous cacher de la face de Dieu et nous éloigne de Lui.
Quand Adam aimait Dieu, il marchait avec Lui dans le jardin. Mais quand son amour s’est retourné, il s’est caché de Dieu.
Mais heureusement, Jésus est venu pour nous faire sortir de notre cachette et nous remettre en relation avec Dieu. Le grand but pour lequel Jésus a souffert était de nous faire jouir de l’amour du Père.
Restons dans l’amour de notre Père.

Notre Père qui êtes aux cieux, accordez-nous de rester dans votre amour.

When there was a famine in his country, Isaac went to the land of the Philistines, to Gerar, where he settled.
The Lord appeared to him, and said to him: « Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you… »(Genesis 26:3)
Isaac having become very rich, the Philistines were envious of him and then began to annoy him:
They caused quarrels over all the water wells he dug and also prevented him from drawing fresh water from a new well he had just dug in the valley of Gerar.

He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, « Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land. »(Genesis 26:22)

Because He knew well the blessing and peace that God gives is never accompanied by strife nor mixed with disputes, Isaac always avoided coming into direct confrontation with those who provoked him and preferred instead to keep looking elsewhere where he could dig wells without quarreling until he discovered his Rehoboth.
Like Isaac, we too must continue to seek to discover the Rehoboth of our lives, until the Lord gives it to us.
Once in our Rehoboth, no one can come to disturb us and prevent us from peace.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to discover our Rehoboth.

Lorsqu’il y eut une famine dans son pays, Isaac alla dans le pays des Philistins, à Guérar, où il s’établit.
L’Éternel lui apparut, et lui dit: « Séjourne dans ce pays-ci: je serai avec toi, et je te bénirai… »(Genèse 26:3)
Etant devenu fort riche, les Philistins lui portèrent envie et commencèrent alors à l’embêter:
Ils provoquèrent des querelles au sujet de tous les puits d’eau qu’il creusa et l’empêchèrent aussi de puiser de l’eau vive dans un nouveau puits qu’il venait de creuser dans la vallée de Guérar.

« Il se transporta de là, et creusa un autre puits, pour lequel on ne chercha pas querelle; et il l’appela Rehoboth, car, dit-il, l’Éternel nous a maintenant mis au large, et nous prospérerons dans le pays. »(Genèse 26:22)

Parce qu’Il savait bien la bénédiction et la paix que Dieu donne ne sont jamais ni accompagnées par des querelles ni mélangées à des disputes, Isaac a chaque fois évité d’entrer en confrontation directe avec ceux qui le provoquaient et a plutôt préféré de continuer à chercher ailleurs où il pouvait creuser des puits sans querelles jusqu’à découvrir son Rehoboth.
Comme Isaac, nous devons nous aussi continuer à chercher de découvrir le Rehoboth de notre vie, jusqu’à ce que l’Éternel nous le donne.
Une fois dans notre Rehoboth, nul ne peut plus venir nous perturber et nous empêcher la paix.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de découvrir notre Rehoboth.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

You can be rich, you can be powerful, you can be influential, but if you are without God, you have nothing.

The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy this:
« Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. »(1Timothy 6:17)
It is ridiculous to put your hope in things which are uncertain and that you can not master.
Jesus said: « Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. »(Matthew 6:33)
If you seek first the kingdom and the righteousness of God, God will take care of the rest.
But if you seek first money, pleasure and power first, you are going to be deceived, you are going to come out empty, you are going to come out shorthanded.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to put our hope in you first.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Vous pouvez être riche, vous pouvez être puissant, vous pouvez être influent, mais si vous êtes sans Dieu, vous n’avez rien.

L’apôtre Paul a écrit à Timothée ceci :
« Recommande aux riches du présent siècle de ne pas être orgueilleux, et de ne pas mettre leur espérance dans des richesses incertaines, mais de la mettre en Dieu, qui nous donne avec abondance toutes choses pour que nous en jouissions. »(1 Timothée 6:17)
Il est ridicule de mettre votre espérance dans des choses qui sont incertaines et que vous ne pouvez pas maîtriser.
Jésus a dit: « Cherchez premièrement le royaume et la justice de Dieu; et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus. »(Matthieu 6:33)
Si vous cherchez d’abord le royaume et la justice de Dieu, Dieu s’occupera du reste.
Mais si vous cherchez d’abord l’argent, le plaisir et le pouvoir, vous serez déçu, vous vous en sortirez les mains bredouilles et vous le regretterez.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, accorde-nous de ne placer notre espérance qu’en Vous.
C’est au nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

Life is like a long sea journey as illustrated in the book of Acts of the Apostles, chapter 27, from verse 10 to verse 15.
The following verses can help us understand certain life circumstances:

1- They did not want to take into account the word of God.
« The centurion, instead of listening to what Paul said, followed the advice of the pilot and of the owner of the ship. »(Acts 27:11)
We always have around us people who are ready to confirm our own opinion and turn us away from the path that God has traced for us.

2- Sailors were not happy with where they were.
« The harbor was unsuitable to winter in… »(Acts 27:12)
God does not consider our lack of satisfaction or the poll of opinions, He leads us according to the will of His Spirit. We are called to overcome the difficulties that pile up on our way of life.

3- They were impatient to reach their destination.
« …the majority decided that we should sail on, hoping to reach Phoenix and winter there… »(Acts 27:12)
We are not right to want to rush the course of events to meet God, rather we must stay put and wait for God’s will.

4- They assessed the situation instead of trusting God.
« A gentle south wind began to blow, they thought they had obtained what they wanted; so they weighed anchor and sailed along the shore of Crete. »(Acts 27:13).
The happy circumstances of our life do not always confirm the divine will for us.

5- They were surprised that the circumstances had changed.
« Before very long, a wind of hurricane force, called the « northeaster, » swept down from the island. The ship was caught by the storm and could not head into the wind; so we gave way to it and were driven along. »(Acts 27:14-15)
Sometimes God has to lead us through a place where we most need His support and protection.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to let You direct our lives.
