In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul says that « Love protects… » (1 Corinthians 13:7)
The phrase « Love protects » (or « Love bears all things », depending on the translation) means that love is always ready to forgive and not hold a grudge.
It does not seek to expose the faults of others, but it stands up for, covers, and guards others with grace and mercy.
And in this context, « love covers over all wrongs. »(Proverbs 10:12)
This means that there is no wrong or fault that love cannot excuse, bear or forgive.
However, « to bear » does not mean condoning evil, but rather showing patience and compassion toward the mistakes of others.
If you want to test your love, analyze your ability to excuse, to bear and forgive those you claim to love.
