These words, full of pain and loneliness, came from a man who had been sick for thirty-eight long years: « Sir, I have no one… »(John 5:7).
No family to help him, no friend to support him, no kind neighbor to lend a hand.
Every time the water was stirred, every time healing seemed possible, someone else would get there before him.
Life seemed unfair.
He was alone.
Invisible to the world.
Maybe today, you too are saying those same words: « I have no one! »
No parent to understand you.
No loyal friend.
No one to hold you up through the storm.
You’re surrounded by people, but feel completely abandoned.
You cry out, but no one answers.
But suddenly, Jesus steps onto the scene.
While the man was waiting for someone to carry him into the water, Jesus didn’t need the pool.
He didn’t need a process.
He didn’t need human help.
He Himself is the solution.*
And He simply said:
« Get up, pick up your mat, and walk. »
When you have no one, Jesus shows up as the only One you truly need.
He sees the pain others overlook, hears the silent cries no one else notices, and understands what no one else can.
And most of all, He acts.
He knows who to use to bless you.
He knows how to move hearts, change situations, and shift circumstances in your favor.
He is never limited by your isolation or by the rejection you endure.
He can use even your emptiness to display His glory.
So if today you’re saying: « I have no one! », know this — you have Jesus.
And Jesus is enough.
