To do evil is to sin. But to refuse to acknowledge it is to stay in dangerous fellowship with darkness.
In the Bible, Satan not only sinned—he also lied, deceived, and hid.
Whoever refuses to confess sin, hides it or justifies it, shares in the nature of the lie — of which the devil is the father (John 8:44).
God forgives sin when it is confessed and forsaken (Proverbs 28:13). But the one who hides it feeds self-deception, closes the door to grace, and becomes complicit in evil.
Not confessing is rejecting the light.
Jesus said:
« Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. »(John 3:20)
Hiding sin is living in disguised disobedience.
It is resisting the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin (John 16:8) and denying the work of Christ, who came to set us free.
« If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. »(1 John 1:9)
But:
« Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. »(Proverbs 28:13)
God calls you to light, truth, and sincere repentance. Refusing this means standing with Satan — even in silence.
