Qui aurait apporté dans ce monde les biens qu’il possède ?
Qui est né avec des diplômes, les titres et les honneurs ?
Qui est né avec un compte à la banque ?
Qui est né chef ou patron ?
Personne.

La parole de Dieu nous dit que:
« Nous n’avons rien apporté dans le monde, et il est évident que nous n’en pouvons rien emporter. »(1 Timothée 6:7)

Tout est vanité car nous n’emporterons rien de ce monde à la mort.
Nous devrions donc être humbles et chercher le royaume des cieux où nous vivrons dans la plénitude avec Dieu et pour toujours.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous d’être humbles.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions.

What do we gain by thinking and desiring evil?
Nothing.

For having danced well among the guests on the anniversary of Herod’s birth, Herodias’ daughter pleased Herod, so that he promised with an oath to give her what she asked:
« Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom… »(Mark 6:23)

Prompted by her mother, instead of asking for half the kingdom, promotion or immunity, she said:
« Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist. »(Matthew 14:8)

John the Baptist was beheaded in the prison, his head brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother.
But what good was this head of John the Baptist to her?
Nothing.

Indeed, the mother of this girl had kept a grudge against Jean Baptiste who had, in the past, opposed her being married to his brother.
And here is the result of her hatred!

Let’s avoid hate, it makes us want things that are not only bad, but also fool.

Our Father who art in heaven, help us to avoid hatred.

Que gagne-t-on à penser et à désirer le mal?
Rien.

Pour avoir bien dancé au milieu des convives à l’anniversaire de la naissance d’Hérode, la fille d’Hérodias plut à Hérode, de sorte qu’il promit avec serment de lui donner ce qu’elle demanderait:
« Ce que tu me demanderas, je te le donnerai, fût-ce la moitié de mon royaume. »(Marc 6:23)

Au lieu de demander la moitié du royaume, la promotion ou l’immunité, voilà ce qu’elle demanda sous l’instigation de sa mère:
« Donne-moi ici, sur un plat, la tête de Jean Baptiste. »(Matthieu 14:8)

Jean Baptiste fut décapité en prison, sa tête apportée sur un plat, et donnée à la jeune fille, qui la porta à sa mère.
Mais que lui a-t-elle servi cette tête de Jean Baptiste ?
Rien.

En effet, la mère de cette fille avait gardé une dent contre Jean Baptiste qui s’était, dans le passé, opposé à ce qu’elle soit mariée à son frère.
Et voilà le résultat de sa haine!

Évitons la haine, elle nous fait désirer des choses non seulement mauvaises, mais aussi foles.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, aidez-nous à éviter la haine.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

Addressing Israel, the prophet Isaiah invites them to bear witness to the faithfulness with which God has fulfilled his old promises and asks them to believe also in the new things that he now announces.

« You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? « From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you. »(Isaiah 48:6)

Indeed, God wants us to consider all the promises He has fulfilled in our lives and all the benefits He continues to do to us and on our behalf.
Let’s look at that we’re still alive,
Look at that we can hear or read his word,
Look at his favors and all his blessings,
Look at his grace, kindness, mercy and free forgiveness, etc.
Let us look at all this, let us praise His name and give Him thanks, He will not dispense with doing other new good things in our favor.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to look at all the promises and blessings you have wrought in our lives.

S’adressant à Israël, le prophète Esaïe l’invite à rendre témoignage à la fidélité avec laquelle Dieu a accompli ses anciennes promesses et lui demande de croire aussi aux choses nouvelles qu’il annonce maintenant.

« Tu entends ! Considère tout cela ! Et vous, ne l’avouerez-vous pas ?… Maintenant, je t’annonce des choses nouvelles, Cachées, inconnues de toi. »(Esaïe 48:6)

En effet, Dieu veut que nous considérions toutes les promesses qu’Il a accomplies dans notre vie et tous les bienfaits qu’Il continue de faire à notre égard et en notre faveur.
Considérons alors que nous sommes encore en vie,
Considérons que nous pouvons entendre ou lire sa parole,
Considérons ses faveurs et tous ses bienfaits,
Considérons sa grâce, sa bonté, sa miséricorde et son pardon gratuit, etc.
Considérons tout cela, louons son nom et rendons-Lui grâces, Il ne se dispensera pas de faire en notre faveur d’autres nouvelles bonnes choses.

Notre Père qui es aux cieux, donnez-nous de considérer toutes les promesses et tous les bienfaits que vous avez accompli dans nos vies.

Herod and Pilate had been enemies for a time, and now, because of Jesus whom they persecuted together, the two became friends!

« That day Herod and Pilate became friends —before this they had been enemies. »(Luke 23:12)

If there had been a disagreement between Herod and Pilate over Jesus, Jesus would not to be crucified, and thus God’s will would not to be done.
Do you know why?
It is simply because God hates enmities and easily operates where there is love, friendship and cohesion.
We must therefore avoid enmities and do everything to reconcile ourselves with our enemies in order to allow God to work his benefits in our lives.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to act in such a way that our former enemies become our friends.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.

Hérode et Pilate avaient été des ennemis pendant un temps, et voilà que, à cause de Jésus qu’ils persécutaient ensemble, les deux deviennent des amis!

« Ce jour même, Pilate et Hérode devinrent amis, d’ennemis qu’ils étaient auparavant. »(Luc 23:12)

S’il y avait eu désaccord entre Hérode et Pilate au sujet de Jésus, Jésus n’allait pas être crucifié, et ainsi, la volonté de Dieu n’allait pas être faite.
Saviez-vous pourquoi ?
C’est tout simplement parce que Dieu déteste les inimitiés et opère facilement là où il y a l’amour, l’amitié et la cohésion.
Nous devons donc éviter les inimitiés et tout faire pour nous réconcilier avec nos ennemis afin de permettre à Dieu d’opérer ses bienfaits dans nos vies.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, aidez-nous à agir de telle sorte que nos anciens ennemis deviennent nos amis.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

The word of God shows us how we should protect our good relationships with others.

It tells us:
« Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. »(James 1:19)

As we would like others to listen to us and understand us well, we should also listen well to others to understand them well.
Indeed, many conflicts result from misunderstandings.
Let’s not get angry.
Anger does not resolve misunderstandings, on the contrary, it makes them worse. It is a tool of the devil to destroy good relationships among God’s children and to lead them into brutality, violence and sin.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, help us to know how to listen to others and to be able to control our anger.

La parole de Dieu nous montre comment nous devons protéger nos bonnes relations avec les autres.

Elle nous dit:
« Que tout homme soit prompt à écouter, lent à parler, lent à se mettre en colère. »(Jacques 1:19)

Comme nous voudrions que les autres nous écoutent et nous comprennent bien, nous devrions aussi bien écouter les autres pour bien les comprendre.
En effet, beaucoup de conflits résultent des malentendus ou des incompréhensions.
Évitons de nous mettre en colère.
La colère ne résout pas les malentendus, au contraire, elle les empire. C’est un outil du diable pour détruire les bonnes relations entre les enfants de Dieu et pour les entraîner dans la brutalité, dans la violence et dans le péché.

PRIÈRE:
Notre Père qui es aux cieux, aidez-nous à savoir écouter les autres et à pouvoir maîtriser notre colère.
C’est dans le nom précieux de votre fils Jésus-Christ que nous prions, Amen.

To hear Jesus tell people to love one another, you would think it is so simple!

We see that it is difficult when Jesus comes to say:
« Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who persecute and slander you. »(Matthew 5:44)

Indeed, nothing is ordinary than to love those who love us or to greet our brothers.
What is not ordinary and what differentiates the children of God from others is precisely this strength that Christ gives us to also love those who hate us, and to bless those who curse us.
And frankly speaking, as long as we have not yet reached that threshold of being able to love our enemies, we have no right to claim to be children of this God who rains rain on the just and the unjust.
We deceive ourselves.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, give us strength to love those who hate us.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
