FORGIVENESS IS NOT WEAKNESS

Forgiveness is often
misunderstood.
Many see it as surrender, as if forgiving means accepting injustice or forgetting the pain.
But the truth is deeper: forgiveness is a decision of strength, not a sign of weakness.

When you forgive, you are not saying, “What you did is right.”
You are saying, “I refuse to let what you did destroy my heart.”

In Scripture, Jesus Christ reveals the true power of forgiveness.
Even on the cross, after betrayal, rejection, and suffering, He said:
“Father, forgive them. For they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)

That is not weakness.
That is divine strength.

Forgiveness requires:
•strength to release pain
•courage to let go of revenge
•faith to trust God as the righteous Judge

“Render to no one harm for harm… Do not defend yourselves, dearest ones. Instead, step aside from wrath.” (Romans 12:17–19)

When you hold onto offense, it imprisons your heart.
But when you forgive, you break chains you didn’t even see.

“Be kind and merciful to one another, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you in Christ.” (Ephesians 4:32)

Forgiveness does not always restore relationships immediately—
but it always restores your freedom.

So today, choose strength.
Choose freedom.
Choose forgiveness.

PRAYER:
Lord,
You see the pain I carry and the wounds in my heart.
Give me the strength to forgive, even when it is difficult.
Heal what has been broken in me, and remove every bitterness.
Teach me to love as You love and to walk in freedom.
I choose today to release every offense into Your hands.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
