SELF-CONFIDENCE

« Fear not… » is one of the most repeated words in the Bible.
Indeed, faced with disturbing situations, the normal reaction is a loss of self-confidence and a feeling of incapacity.
Such was the case with Gideon when God entrusted him with the mission of delivering Israel from Midian.

Believing himself incapable, Gideon said:
* »Forgive me, my lord, but how can I deliver Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh and I am the least important of my father’s family. »*(Judges 6:15)

God had to reassure him that he will be with him:
* »I shall be with you and you will crush Midian as though it were one man. »*(Judges 6:16)

* »I SHALL BE WITH YOU. »*
Here is the word that should reassure us whenever we doubt our ability to do something or whenever we feel fear for something.

Indeed, this word that comes from the mouth of God requires us not only to trust in God, but also and above all to trust above all in ourselves. God had also asked Gideon:
* »Go in this strength of yours, and you will rescue Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you myself? »* (Judges 6:14)

If we trust our own strengths and abilities, however weak they may be, our God will always be with us to help us use them as they are to help us thrive, succeed and thrive, and overcome all the challenges of life.
Let us have confidence in ourselves because our God moves forward with those who want to move forward, fight alongside those who are not afraid to fight and acts with and for those who agree to act.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, give us to trust in ourselves.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
