THE DOOR WILL BE CLOSED!

After Noah entered the ark to escape the flood, the door was closed.

Who closed this door?
It is the Lord himself.
* »The Lord closed the door on him. »*(Genesis 7:16)

If the door had not been closed, perhaps Noah, curious like any man, would have been tempted to look at what is happening outside.
It is therefore in order to preserve Noah that God Himself closed the door.

The exterior here symbolizes the world of darkness and sin, doomed to destruction, and the interior that of light and holiness.
If we manage to leave the world of darkness and enter holiness, through the door of salvation, it is still difficult for us to lock ourselves in there, because we are sometimes tempted to see what is happening there or to go back there. Only Jesus can close that door for us.

And as the door was once closed in the days of Noah, it will be closed again in the last days when the master of the house rises to come and close it.
It will be in vain that many will come knocking at this door, imploring: « Lord! Lord, open to us! » But as with the foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), this door will remain closed forever.

PRAYER:
Lord our God, lock us in salvation by your grace.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen!
