THE TRAP OF SUCCESS

Uzziah was crowned king at the age of sixteen.
From the beginning of his reign, he sought God and was committed to walking in His ways.
As long as he depended on the Lord, God made him prosper and granted him remarkable success.

But the Bible warns us:
“But when he became strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction…” (2 Chronicles 26:16)

The success that Uzziah had received from God eventually became his trap.
Instead of remaining humble and grateful, he forgot that his prosperity came from the Lord. His heart became proud, and he began to act according to his own will.

It was not poverty, failure, or hardship that caused his downfall.
It was success that was not handled with humility.

Uzziah’s story reminds us that God’s blessings can become a trap when we stop depending on Him.
Success, wealth, talents, and influence are not dangerous in themselves; the danger begins when we take for ourselves the glory that belongs to God alone.

When God lifts us up, it is not for our glory, but for His.
The more He blesses us, the more humble we should become.

True success is not merely reaching the top; it is remaining faithful to God once you get there.

PRAYER:
Lord,
Protect me from the trap of pride.
When You bless me and lift me up, help me never forget that everything comes from You.
May my success draw me closer to You rather than farther away.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
