THE WORD OF GOD OR MIRACLES ?

We would like to see more miracles than to listen to the word of God and believe in it. But, between miracles and the word of God, what will save us?

When the scribes and Pharisees said to Jesus: « Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you »(Matthew 12:38), he replied that his resurrection will be the most eloquent of miracles for them.(read Matthew 12:38-40)

Indeed, the miracle of the resurrection is enough for us to believe in Jesus and in the one who raised him. Other miracles should not condition our faith.
Moreover, all miracles do not necessarily come from God, there are some that come from Satan. Jesus warned us of this:
« False Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible. »(Matthew 24:24)

If we cling to miracles, it is a real sign that our faith is not strong and that we risk becoming lost and falling into the traps of Satan.
But if we cling to the word of God, we will be saved, because the word of God not only builds us up and reassures us in faith, but also always creates and works miracles of God in our lives.

PRAYER:
Our Father who art in heaven, grant us to be satisfied with your Word.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
