In the mind of man, we are happy if the circumstances of life are favorable to us or if we have all kinds of material goods or various insurances that cover us, protect us in case of problems.
There are also some who think that they will be happy when they get married, when they have a child, when they are rich, when they have power or a high place in society, others when they will travel to such and such a country, and so.
But the problem is that when we acquire these things which we believe give happiness, we certainly have a joy but which unfortunately is temporary.
* »My happiness vanishes like a cloud. »*(Job 30:15)
This temporary « happiness » is not real happiness.
True happiness is in God.
It is linked to faith in God’s faithfulness and hope in his promises.
It is bound to walk in obedience to his commandments.
* »If you know these things, happy are you if you practice them. »* (John 13:17)
PRAYER:
Lord our God, grant us to seek happiness only in You.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
