MAKING A DECISION

Making a decision is one of the most powerful acts in a person’s life.
One decision can open a door… or close it.
It can bring you closer to your destiny… or lead you away from it.

The Bible shows us that many destinies changed because of a single decision.

Let us look at Genesis 13:10–11:
Lot lifted his eyes and saw the plain of the Jordan, well-watered and attractive… and he chose to go there.
But he did not discern the spiritual danger. That decision led him toward Sodom, a place of corruption.

A decision based only on what the eyes see can lead to destruction.

On the other hand, in Joshua 24:15, Joshua declares:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua did not wait for perfect circumstances.
He made a firm, clear, and spiritual decision.
And that decision impacted an entire generation.

Some people suffer today not because God has abandoned them… but because they hesitate.
They postpone until tomorrow what God is asking them to do today.

In 1 Kings 18:21, the prophet Elijah says:
“How long will you waver between two sides? If the Lord is God, follow Him.”

Indecision is just as dangerous as a wrong decision.
Not choosing is already choosing to remain where you are.

There is also the factor of timing.

In Ecclesiastes 3:1, it is written:
“All things have their time, and all things under heaven continue during their interval.”

A good decision made at the wrong time can produce poor results.
And a delayed decision can become a missed opportunity.

That is why it is not enough to decide — you must decide with God.

As it is written in Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Have confidence in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend upon your own prudence.
In all your ways, consider him, and he himself will direct your steps.”

A decision guided by God brings peace, even when the path seems difficult.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me the wisdom to make the right decisions.
Keep me from rushing and from hesitation.
Teach me to discern the times and to listen to Your voice.
May every decision I make draw me closer to Your will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
