«We break down every thought and proud thing that puts itself up against the wisdom of God. We take hold of every thought and make it obey Christ.»(2 Corinthians 10:5)
There are thoughts and reasonings that rise up against us: words spoken to discourage us, plans designed to harm us, unfair judgments, hatred, or intentions aimed at bringing about our downfall.
But we are not called to passively accept everything that is built against us.
In Christ, we have been given spiritual authority to break down every reasoning that contradicts God’s truth, to reject words that predict our failure, and to stand firmly on what God says about our lives.
When we know that certain people hate us, reject us, or desire our downfall, our response should not be hatred for hatred.
We place those people in God’s hands.
We pray that their thoughts will change, that their hearts will be touched, and that their intentions will be transformed.
For we cannot control the thoughts of others, but we can break down everything that rises against the truth of God, resist evil, and believe that God is able to transform even an adversary into an instrument of peace.
So do not allow the reasoning of men to become the reasoning that governs your life.
What God has decided for you cannot be cancelled by what someone thinks against you.
Break down the reasonings.
Take every thought captive.
Make it obey Christ.
And let God deal with the hearts of men.
«If God is for us, who can be against us?»(Romans 8:31)
