It is time to stop hiding behind spiritual words to avoid a disturbing truth.
Saying “I love God” is easy.
Singing, praying, fasting… all of that can impress people.
But God is not deceived by appearances.
The apostle John speaks plainly:
« If anyone says that he loves God, but hates his brother, then he is a liar. For he who does not love his brother, whom he does see, in what way can he love God, whom he does not see? » (1 John 4:20)
Not that you are weak.
Not that you are still growing.
But that you are a liar.
This is a hard word, but a necessary one.
The love of God is not declared, it is demonstrated.
God is invisible.
Your brother, however, is visible.
You cannot ignore, despise, reject, envy, or hurt people…
and at the same time claim to be connected to God.
Because the love of God flows through you to reach others.
Refusing to forgive is shutting the door on God.
Holding onto hatred is contradicting God.
Feeding pride is denying God.
You may speak in tongues, prophesy, preach…
but if love is absent, everything becomes false.
The real issue is the heart.
This passage does not only condemn actions,
it reveals a heart that has not yet been transformed.
Loving God is not an emotion.
It is a nature.
And that nature produces:
patience
forgiveness
compassion
humility
truth.
If these fruits are missing, do not look for spiritual excuses.
Return to the source.
God is not looking for words, but for proof
Today, God is not asking how much you pray.
He is looking at how you love.
Do you only love those who respect you?
Or are you able to love even those who have hurt you?
That is where the truth of your faith is revealed.
Because loving God without loving people…
is a religious illusion.
Make a decision today,
Stop lying to God.
Stop lying to yourself.
If love is not there, admit it.
And let God transform your heart.
Because in the end, only one thing will matter:
have you truly loved?
PRAYER:
Lord God,
You see my heart better than I do.
Where there is hatred, remove it.
Where there is pride, break it.
Teach me to love as You love.
Let my love for others become the living proof of my love for You.
Transform me, so that I may walk in truth.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
