“For it is God who works in you, both so as to choose, and so as to act, in accord with his good will.”
(Philippians 2:13)
No one can be the ultimate source of all goodness by themselves. God is the Source of all goodness. He is the One who puts the desire to do good in a person’s heart and gives them the ability to carry it out.
So, when someone does good to you, don’t focus only on the person; look to the One who used that person.
It’s not him, it’s God!
And if that person one day stops doing good to you, do not despair, hold on to resentment, or think that your blessing has come to an end.
God is not limited to a single instrument.
Mordecai said to Esther:
“Relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place.” (Esther 4:14)
The person who helped you yesterday may stop helping you today. But God can raise up someone else, open another door, or create another path to continue His work in your life.
Therefore, do not become so attached to the instrument that you forget the Source.
People may change.
The instrument may stop.
But God remains faithful.
IT’S NOT HIM, IT’S GOD!
PRAYER:
Lord, teach me to recognize Your hand behind every blessing and never to confuse the instrument with the Source. Amen.
Shalom!
