Many people confuse malignity with intelligence. And yet the two are diametrically opposed because malignity comes from Satan and intelligence from God.
The Bible tells us that the most intelligent man the world has ever known is King Solomon and that the One who gave him this intelligence is God.
« God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. »(1 Kings 4:29)
We understand that God is the source of intelligence.
However, the Bible nowhere tells us that Satan gave intelligence to anyone. Satan gives malignity. This is why the Bible calls him the evil one.
« We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. »(1 John 5:19)
The evil one is the one who breeds evil, loves evil and encourages evil, uses trickery or deception to make a person fall into evil and danger.
If then in your life you know how to use the weakness of others to take advantage of them or to induce them into evil, if you believe that trickery can be a good way of life, you are not intelligent, you are rather smart and you are of the devil.
But if you hate evil and love the truth and the light in all that you do, you are intelligent and you are of God.
PRAYER:
Lord our God, help us to be intelligent rather than cunning.
It is in the precious name of your son Jesus Christ that we pray, Amen.
